00:
55:13,118 -- 00:55:15,427

- Took some sleeping pills.

- Oh, Jesus Christ.

696

00:
55:15,638 -- 00:55:18,027

- Oh, no.

- Yep.

697

00:
55:19,998 -- 00:55:25,026

We had an argument, I told her

she had to get out of the apartment...

698

00:
55:27,318 -- 00:55:28,956

It's my fault.

699

00:
55:29,678 -- 00:55:31,077

God.

700

00:
55:31,398 -- 00:55:37,917

Marcy. Marcy, Marcy, Marcy,

Marcy, Marcy. Marcy, Marcy, Marcy!

701

00:
55:38,158 -- 00:55:39,671

Marcy!

702

00:
55:48,078 -- 00:55:49,636

I...

703

00:
55:55,718 -- 00:55:58,152

I don't know what to say. I just...

704

00:
55:58,478 -- 00:56:00,594

- I don't know what to say.

- What can you say?

705

00:
56:00,758 -- 00:56:03,192

After all, it wasn't your fault.

706

00:
56:07,118 -- 00:56:10,872

I'm going to...

I'll be right back, okay? Try to stay calm.

707

00:
56:21,758 -- 00:56:23,032

JULIE:
Oh...

- You all right?

708

00:
56:23,198 -- 00:56:24,392

Why, yes.

709

00:
56:24,558 -- 00:56:26,116

[THUNDERING]

710

00:
56:26,278 -- 00:56:30,066

- You said two minutes, though.

- I know. I know.

711

00:
56:30,238 -- 00:56:32,911

- I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

- Did you miss me?

712

00:
56:33,758 -- 00:56:37,273

Like I've never missed anyone in my

whole life, is how much I missed you.

713

00:
56:37,438 -- 00:56:40,987

- Really?

- I can't believe how much I missed you.

714

00:
56:41,518 -- 00:56:43,952

- I really did miss you, I'm not...

- That's very sweet.

715

00:
56:50,238 -- 00:56:51,717

I'm gonna give you a present.

716

00:
56:51,918 -- 00:56:55,194

Don't do that.

That's really not necessary at all.

717

00:
56:55,358 -- 00:56:58,236

I mean, I've only known you,

what, an hour?

718

00:
56:58,398 -- 00:57:02,357

No, no, no. You said that you were

gonna come back and you did.

719

00:
57:02,998 -- 00:57:05,876

In these days,

that is something to be commended...

720

00:
57:06,038 -- 00:57:08,233

...and rewarded.

721

00:
57:13,398 -- 00:57:15,070

- Do you know what this is?

- No.

722

00:
57:15,238 -- 00:57:17,354

[MOUSE TRAP SNAPS]

[SQUEAKING]

723

00:
57:19,946 -- 00:57:23,382

This is a plaster-of-Paris

bagel and cream cheese paperweight.

724

00:
57:24,106 -- 00:57:25,778

I bought it from a local artist.

725

00:
57:25,946 -- 00:57:28,221

Kiki Bridges.

Did you ever hear of her?

726

00:
57:28,386 -- 00:57:29,739

Julie...

727

00:
57:31,586 -- 00:57:34,020

...I promised I would come back

and I did.

728

00:
57:34,186 -- 00:57:36,859

Now I really do have to go.

729

00:
57:37,346 -- 00:57:39,940

I gotta sleep.

You understand that, don't you?

730

00:
57:40,106 -- 00:57:42,256

And I promise I'm gonna

see you again.

731

00:
57:42,426 -- 00:57:45,179

I will. Okay?

732

00:
57:47,426 -- 00:57:48,700

You all right?

733

00:
57:48,866 -- 00:57:53,064

Why do you keep asking me that? What's

with you, are you nuts or something?

734

00:
57:53,626 -- 00:57:56,424

Let's exchange phone numbers.

Wanna do that?

735

00:
57:56,946 -- 00:57:58,379

- Phone numbers?

- Yeah, come on.

736

00:
57:58,546 -- 00:58:03,540

It's a great idea. I'll write it on this.

Okay. What's your number?

737

00:
58:03,706 -- 00:58:07,619

My number is 5-4433.

Very easy to remember.

738

00:
58:07,786 -- 00:58:10,175

PAUL:
5-4433.

- Uh-huh.

739

00:
58:10,426 -- 00:58:12,781

That's not enough numbers, but okay.

740

00:
58:12,946 -- 00:58:14,743

5-4433.

741

00:
58:15,346 -- 00:58:18,179

- Okay.

- No, KL5-4433.

742

00:
58:18,346 -- 00:58:21,258

I'm sorry. Okay.

Okay. Sorry, sorry.

743

00:
58:25,826 -- 00:58:28,056

- Oh, God.

- Wait.

744

00:
58:28,226 -- 00:58:30,740

Get that away from me. Jesus!

745

00:
58:31,066 -- 00:58:32,738

JULIE:

Oh, really?

746

00:
58:34,706 -- 00:58:37,095

You're gonna be sorry,

because I am going to get you!

747

00:
58:38,906 -- 00:58:42,137

Oh, you're kidding me. Not again.

748

00:
58:44,066 -- 00:58:46,022

What is this?

749

00:
58:48,706 -- 00:58:51,982

Oh, God...

750

00:
58:57,906 -- 00:59:00,943

Hey, let's knock off for tonight, okay?

My back's killing me.

751

00:
59:01,106 -- 00:59:05,702

Come on. Let's look for my statue, man.

It's gotta be around here someplace.

752

00:
59:06,866 -- 00:59:10,745

That makes me sick. That statue was

the first thing in my life I ever bought.

753

00:
59:12,066 -- 00:59:13,863

See what happens when

you pay for stuff?

754

00:
59:14,026 -- 00:59:17,336

Somebody rips it off. Sh*t.

755

00:
59:19,346 -- 00:59:23,703

It's gotta be around here someplace.

Let's cruise down Mercer Street.

756

00:
59:38,066 -- 00:59:39,704

Tom?

757

00:
59:40,386 -- 00:59:42,138

Tom, it's Paul.

758

00:
59:47,066 -- 00:59:50,376

NEIGHBOR 3:
I was afraid to go in.

You don't wanna confront one of them.

759

00:
59:50,546 -- 00:59:53,982

Some of them are drugged up and

you don't know if they have a knife...

760

00:
59:55,186 -- 00:59:56,539

I wasn't out an hour.

761

00:
59:56,706 -- 01:00:00,665

I come in, the cameras are gone,

the lenses are gone, the whole thing...

762

01:
00:00,826 -- 01:00:04,421

- Did you call your insurance agent?

- I don't have insurance, besides...

763

01:
00:05,266 -- 01:00:07,143

NEIGHBOR 2:

It's that guy again. Hey!

764

01:
00:07,906 -- 01:00:09,419

NEIGHBOR 1:

Don't let him get away.

765

01:
00:11,986 -- 01:00:14,056

- You know where he went?

NEIGHBOR 2:
This way.

766

01:
00:14,226 -- 01:00:15,215

NEIGHBOR 1:

That's him.

767

01:
00:19,546 -- 01:00:23,016

CASHIER:
Come on, get your

grubby face out of here. Get out.

768

01:
00:24,026 -- 01:00:26,984

- Hey, fella, where you going?

- Restroom?

769

01:
00:27,426 -- 01:00:31,135

You didn't just come use the bathroom?

The bathroom's for customers only.

770

01:
00:31,306 -- 01:00:34,821

I'm gonna order something, really.

I just wanna use your bathroom, okay?

771

01:
00:34,986 -- 01:00:36,499

CASHIER:

Hey, didn't you hear me?

772

01:
00:36,666 -- 01:00:40,659

Come on, you goddamn mutt,

get out of here and stay out of here.

773

01:
00:56,626 -- 01:00:59,299

Menu's on the table.

Make yourself comfortable.

774

01:
00:59,466 -- 01:01:02,026

- I set it up for you.

- Oh.

775

01:
01:02,906 -- 01:01:04,339

Thank you.

776

01:
01:08,026 -- 01:01:09,015

Oh...

777

01:
01:13,386 -- 01:01:16,378

KIKl:
i"Paul and Marcy, Horst and I

iwent to Club Berlin for drinks. "

778

01:
01:18,626 -- 01:01:21,936

I'm just gonna go put a quarter

in the meter at my car.

779

01:
01:23,226 -- 01:01:27,617

Let's see.

I'll have a burger, medium rare, coffee.

780

01:
01:43,146 -- 01:01:44,420

May I enter?

781

01:
01:44,586 -- 01:01:46,895

I can't let you in at the moment.

782

01:
01:49,066 -- 01:01:51,705

Will it be possible to be admitted...

783

01:
01:51,866 -- 01:01:54,096

...at a more convenient time

for the club?

784

01:
01:54,266 -- 01:01:56,860

It is possible, but not at the moment.

785

01:
01:59,346 -- 01:02:00,825

PAUL:

God.

01:

Joseph Minion

Joseph Minion (born 1957 in Teaneck, New Jersey) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for Martin Scorsese's After Hours (1985). Born in New Jersey in 1957, Minion briefly attended NYU Film School before finishing his studies at Columbia University, then renowned for its screenwriting program. In 1984, Minion's script for After Hours was optioned by Griffin Dunne and Amy Robinson, the latter a former actress who'd appeared as Harvey Keitel's damaged girlfriend in Scorsese's Mean Streets (1973). Robinson sent Minion's screenplay to Scorsese, whose Last Temptation of Christ had recently fallen through; production on After Hours started shortly afterward. Later, it surfaced that Minion had plagiarized portions of After Hours from radio host Joe Frank, who sued and settled for an undisclosed sum.Minion continued his screenwriting career with 1987's Julia and Julia starring Kathleen Turner; 1989's Vampire's Kiss, starring Nicolas Cage; Motorama (1991); and On the Run (1999). He also worked again with Martin Scorsese in 1986 for an episode of Amazing Stories, "Mirror, Mirror".As a director, Minion made his debut for producer Roger Corman with 1987's Daddy's Boys, said to have been thrown together at the last minute to make use of standing sets for Big Bad Mama II. His last outing as director was for another low-budget feature, Trafficking (1999). more…
