If you're so drawn to it,

you can try and force your way in.

787

01:
02:09,946 -- 01:02:11,743

Got any money?

788

01:
02:12,186 -- 01:02:14,905

Yes, I have money.

Is that what you want? Money?

789

01:
02:15,066 -- 01:02:17,455

Why didn't you just ask that

in the first place, man?

790

01:
02:17,626 -- 01:02:20,094

Here. It's not much,

but it's all I've got.

791

01:
02:20,266 -- 01:02:23,861

I'll take it because I don't want you

to feel you left anything untried.

792

01:
02:24,026 -- 01:02:25,744

You keep the quarter.

793

01:
02:26,106 -- 01:02:28,017

You'll still have to wait

a few minutes.

794

01:
02:28,186 -- 01:02:29,904

Hey, Mott.

795

01:
02:33,946 -- 01:02:35,345

Why doesn't he have to wait?

796

01:
02:35,546 -- 01:02:38,902

Tonight is Mohawk night.

If you had a Mohawk, you could go in.

797

01:
02:39,466 -- 01:02:41,377

[CHUCKLING]

798

01:
02:42,226 -- 01:02:45,104

Come on. We're both adults.

799

01:
02:46,146 -- 01:02:48,216

Why don't you just let me in!

800

01:
02:48,906 -- 01:02:50,498

- Do you really wanna go inside?

- Yes.

801

01:
02:50,666 -- 01:02:53,544

It's very important.

I've got people in there expecting me.

802

01:
02:53,706 -- 01:02:55,901

Why don't you just let me in.

803

01:
02:56,746 -- 01:02:58,464

You're sure?

804

01:
02:59,466 -- 01:03:01,855

Yes, I'm sure.

805

01:
03:02,426 -- 01:03:05,224

[BAD BRAINS "PAY TO CUM" PLAYS]

806

01:
03:05,786 -- 01:03:08,254

BOUNCER:

Coming through, coming through.

807

01:
03:09,026 -- 01:03:11,256

- To your left and straight ahead.

PAUL:
What?

808

01:
03:11,426 -- 01:03:14,702

Right through there.

It's straight through there.

809

01:
03:35,266 -- 01:03:37,461

- Mohawk this guy.

- With pleasure.

810

01:
03:42,226 -- 01:03:44,376

Kiki! Kiki! Horst!

811

01:
03:46,786 -- 01:03:48,981

Kiki! Horst!

812

01:
03:49,146 -- 01:03:52,502

Marcy's dead!

Neil and Pepe are crooks!

813

01:
03:52,666 -- 01:03:55,100

I'm broke! Help!

814

01:
03:55,626 -- 01:03:58,220

No! Don't!

815

01:
03:58,466 -- 01:04:01,936

[SCREAMING]

816

01:
04:13,026 -- 01:04:14,937

God, what have they done to me?

817

01:
04:16,106 -- 01:04:18,984

God. I'll kill those barbarians.

Kill them.

818

01:
04:20,826 -- 01:04:23,499

Bald. God! Get me a gun.

819

01:
04:24,826 -- 01:04:26,225

[KNOCKING]

820

01:
04:26,386 -- 01:04:28,741

Hello? Hello?

821

01:
04:56,906 -- 01:04:59,704

[CROWD MUMBLING]

822

01:
05:24,626 -- 01:05:27,060

Taxi. Taxi.

823

01:
05:27,986 -- 01:05:29,135

Come here.

824

01:
05:29,306 -- 01:05:31,422

- God, I'm so sorry.

PAUL:
It's all right.

825

01:
05:31,666 -- 01:05:34,658

Oh, this is great.

Look, I got the money back.

826

01:
05:34,826 -- 01:05:36,862

Isn't that great?

Now you can take me uptown.

827

01:
05:37,026 -- 01:05:39,176

Great. I'll be right back.

828

01:
05:39,346 -- 01:05:43,544

- See how you like it!

- No, don't! No!

829

01:
05:44,666 -- 01:05:46,384

Oh, no.

830

01:
05:46,546 -- 01:05:49,060

No, no, no.

831

01:
05:49,226 -- 01:05:52,536

I don't believe it. Did you see that?

832

01:
05:53,546 -- 01:05:57,619

- Look at your arm. It's bleeding.

- Oh, great.

833

01:
05:57,786 -- 01:05:59,299

I feel terrible.

834

01:
06:01,026 -- 01:06:03,938

Look, why don't you come with me

and I'll get you a bandage.

835

01:
06:04,106 -- 01:06:07,257

- No, thank you. It's not that serious.

- No, I insist.

836

01:
06:07,426 -- 01:06:08,825

No...

837

01:
06:10,466 -- 01:06:12,024

- Do you have a telephone?

- Yeah.

838

01:
06:15,826 -- 01:06:18,738

I'm sorry. I just...

839

01:
06:19,906 -- 01:06:22,295

You wouldn't believe

what I've been through tonight.

840

01:
06:22,466 -- 01:06:23,899

You just wouldn't believe it.

841

01:
06:24,066 -- 01:06:27,615

Oh... I'm an ice cream vendor.

Mister Softee.

842

01:
06:27,786 -- 01:06:28,980

What?

843

01:
06:29,146 -- 01:06:30,340

I...

844

01:
06:30,506 -- 01:06:32,542

You misunderstood.

I didn't ask what you did.

845

01:
06:32,706 -- 01:06:35,743

I said, " You wouldn't believe

what I've been through tonight."

846

01:
06:35,906 -- 01:06:37,703

It's not boring.

847

01:
06:38,786 -- 01:06:42,745

And I have my own Mister Softee truck.

It's not. It's not boring.

848

01:
06:42,906 -- 01:06:43,975

Oh...

849

01:
06:44,146 -- 01:06:46,899

Also, you need a Class Four

New York chauffeur's license.

850

01:
06:47,066 -- 01:06:49,341

Guess who has one.

Got it on my own.

851

01:
06:49,506 -- 01:06:52,623

Manhattan, please. Could I have

the number of Peter Patzak?

852

01:
06:52,906 -- 01:06:56,182

That's P-A-T-Z-A-K.

853

01:
06:56,346 -- 01:06:57,938

- Need a pencil?

- No.

854

01:
06:58,106 -- 01:06:59,937

On Mulberry Street.

855

01:
07:02,786 -- 01:07:04,014

Thank you.

856

01:
07:04,506 -- 01:07:07,782

Five, eight, one, nine...

857

01:
07:08,666 -- 01:07:09,985

...six...

858

01:
07:10,906 -- 01:07:12,305

...two.

859

01:
07:17,986 -- 01:07:21,137

[CHUCKLING]

860

01:
07:21,306 -- 01:07:23,945

That was funny.

That was funny.

861

01:
07:27,266 -- 01:07:31,623

Patzak, please. P-A-T-Z-A-K

on Mulberry Street in Manhattan.

862

01:
07:31,946 -- 01:07:33,425

Thank you.

863

01:
07:33,706 -- 01:07:35,856

- Five, eight, six, two...

- Don't.

864

01:
07:36,026 -- 01:07:38,984

Nine, three, eight, zero.

865

01:
07:39,146 -- 01:07:41,455

[LAUGHING]

866

01:
07:46,506 -- 01:07:48,815

Now I have forgotten the number.

867

01:
07:50,226 -- 01:07:52,865

What is wrong with you?

Are you all right?

868

01:
07:55,386 -- 01:07:58,458

I have had a terrible, terrible night.

Do you understand?

869

01:
07:58,626 -- 01:08:00,139

I'm just trying to entertain you.

870

01:
08:00,306 -- 01:08:04,015

I don't want any entertainment!

And I'm sorry I did that. I'm sorry.

871

01:
08:05,106 -- 01:08:08,098

I'm under... Oh, God.

872

01:
08:09,546 -- 01:08:12,822

I'm unable to get home tonight,

you know? I can't get home.

873

01:
08:12,986 -- 01:08:14,738

And I'm trying desperately...

874

01:
08:15,666 -- 01:08:19,056

...to find a place I can stay tonight.

Just sleep. All I wanna do sleep.

875

01:
08:19,226 -- 01:08:21,535

I could stay on Spring Street,

but I don't want to.

876

01:
08:21,706 -- 01:08:22,980

- Why not?

- Why not what?

877

01:
08:23,146 -- 01:08:25,341

Why aren't you there?

On Spring Street. Go.

878

01:
08:25,506 -- 01:08:29,021

Because the bartender who lives there,

his girlfriend killed herself tonight.

879

01:
08:29,186 -- 01:08:31,495

- And I think it's because of me.

- That's out, then.

880

01:
08:31,666 -- 01:08:33,384

That's right, that's out.

That is out.

881

01:
08:33,546 -- 01:08:35,662

That is not a possibility.

882

01:
08:36,146 -- 01:08:39,377

So if you'd just let me

make this phone call...

883

01:
08:39,786 -- 01:08:42,175

...you'd be doing me such a favor,

you really would.

884

01:
08:42,346 -- 01:08:43,745

- Please.

- That can wait.

885

01:
08:43,906 -- 01:08:47,694

I hurt your arm and now

I want to dress your arm, please.

Joseph Minion

Joseph Minion (born 1957 in Teaneck, New Jersey) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for Martin Scorsese's After Hours (1985). Born in New Jersey in 1957, Minion briefly attended NYU Film School before finishing his studies at Columbia University, then renowned for its screenwriting program. In 1984, Minion's script for After Hours was optioned by Griffin Dunne and Amy Robinson, the latter a former actress who'd appeared as Harvey Keitel's damaged girlfriend in Scorsese's Mean Streets (1973). Robinson sent Minion's screenplay to Scorsese, whose Last Temptation of Christ had recently fallen through; production on After Hours started shortly afterward. Later, it surfaced that Minion had plagiarized portions of After Hours from radio host Joe Frank, who sued and settled for an undisclosed sum.Minion continued his screenwriting career with 1987's Julia and Julia starring Kathleen Turner; 1989's Vampire's Kiss, starring Nicolas Cage; Motorama (1991); and On the Run (1999). He also worked again with Martin Scorsese in 1986 for an episode of Amazing Stories, "Mirror, Mirror".As a director, Minion made his debut for producer Roger Corman with 1987's Daddy's Boys, said to have been thrown together at the last minute to make use of standing sets for Big Bad Mama II. His last outing as director was for another low-budget feature, Trafficking (1999). more…
