Buddha Mountain Page #4

Synopsis: When they are evicted from their apartment in a provincial city in Northern China, a young bar singer and her two male friends rent rooms from a retired opera singer in Peking. The free-spirited young people chafe against a myriad of rules from their controlling landlady. They retaliate by playing unkind practical jokes on the older woman, who pays them back in kind. Their contest of wills escalates, culminating in a violation of trust by the tenants, but eventually the generations learn from each other and a familial bond is formed between them.

Kiss each other.

349

00:
25:55,220 -- 00:25:57,721

Not long enough, kiss again.

- Ding Bo, don't do this on such an occasion.

- Have a drink with me, have a drink with me.

355

00:
26:08,024 -- 00:26:09,525

You bastard, you bastard.

356

00:
26:09,693 -- 00:26:10,776

My wife can't drink.

357

00:
26:10,944 -- 00:26:13,153

Mr. Ding, don't be so petty.

358

00:
26:13,321 -- 00:26:14,863

Everyone likes pretty women.

359

00:
26:15,031 -- 00:26:16,574

Drink with you, with me and everyone else.

Come.

360

00:
26:16,741 -- 00:26:18,993

Pretty woman.

Come drink with me.

361

00:
26:19,160 -- 00:26:20,202

Get out, bastard!

362

00:
26:20,370 -- 00:26:22,538

Don't be angry, don't fight!

363

00:
26:22,706 -- 00:26:24,873

- Don't fight! Don't fight!

- You bastard!

364

00:
26:25,417 -- 00:26:26,959

Ding Bo!

365

00:
26:30,755 -- 00:26:31,797

Ding Bo, what are you doing?

366

00:
26:32,257 -- 00:26:33,215

Ding Bo!

367

00:
26:33,842 -- 00:26:36,343

Let's go, Ding Bo!

Let's go!

368

00:
26:36,553 -- 00:26:38,220

Faster.

369

00:
26:38,847 -- 00:26:41,265

- You... You...

- Calm down, have a seat.

370

00:
26:42,350 -- 00:26:43,851

F***!

371

00:
26:44,227 -- 00:26:45,853

Go, hurry!

372

00:
27:55,507 -- 00:27:59,259

External damage and testicle...

373

00:
27:59,427 -- 00:28:02,388

What the heck is this report?

It's so messy.

374

00:
28:04,224 -- 00:28:06,433

You hit and injured this man.

375

00:
28:06,685 -- 00:28:09,395

Is it that guy...

In the bar the other day?

376

00:
28:10,105 -- 00:28:12,714

I... e was so lively that night.

He looks alright.

377

00:
28:12,814 -- 00:28:13,724

There was nothing wrong with him.

378

00:
28:13,824 -- 00:28:14,608

It's that customer the other day.

379

00:
28:14,776 -- 00:28:17,903

Who is this Zhao... Zhao Bo?

I don't know him at all.

380

00:
28:18,071 -- 00:28:19,196

Let me tell you.

381

00:
28:19,364 -- 00:28:21,907

The thing which you were throwing around

on the stage the other day,

382

00:
28:22,075 -- 00:28:25,119

...it flew off and hit him.

383

00:
28:26,204 -- 00:28:29,373

e demands compensation for his injury.

384

00:
28:29,541 -- 00:28:30,708

What did he ask for?

385

00:
28:30,875 -- 00:28:31,959

He said 20,000 yuan.

386

00:
28:32,127 -- 00:28:32,793

ow much?

387

00:
28:32,961 -- 00:28:34,002

20,000.

388

00:
28:34,170 -- 00:28:35,921

Isn't this blackmail?

389

00:
28:36,089 -- 00:28:38,298

- Is this fair? He's blackmailing us.

- If I don't pay him.

390

00:
28:38,466 -- 00:28:40,342

e will make me close down my business.

391

00:
28:40,510 -- 00:28:43,137

And he will come everyday

to smash my bar.

392

00:
28:43,304 -- 00:28:44,847

I was just singing on the stage,

393

00:
28:45,014 -- 00:28:46,849

... and he just happened to pass by.

394

00:
28:47,100 -- 00:28:49,101

This is not just 20,000 yuan.

395

00:
28:49,477 -- 00:28:52,855

What exactly is this?

It means the end of my bar business.

396

00:
28:53,231 -- 00:28:54,648

No matter what.

397

00:
28:54,816 -- 00:28:57,818

I can't let you work here,

if you can't pay.

398

00:
28:57,986 -- 00:28:59,403

Are you a friend?

399

00:
29:01,322 -- 00:29:02,364

ey!

400

00:
30:08,640 -- 00:30:10,224

Stop crying first.

401

00:
30:19,943 -- 00:30:21,485

Don't cry.

402

00:
30:40,088 -- 00:30:41,588

Money.

403

00:
30:42,423 -- 00:30:44,132

I sold my motorcycle.

404

00:
30:44,467 -- 00:30:45,759

You sold it?

405

00:
30:46,970 -- 00:30:48,262

ow much did you sell it for?

406

00:
30:48,429 -- 00:30:49,513

3,000.

407

00:
30:49,681 -- 00:30:52,099

Anyway, there is lot of restrictions.

It's a tough business.

408

00:
30:52,267 -- 00:30:54,101

When can we save enough to pay?

409

00:
30:54,269 -- 00:30:55,352

Go and sell your blood.

410

00:
30:55,520 -- 00:30:56,144

It's 20,000.

411

00:
30:56,312 -- 00:30:57,980

Go and sell your meat.

412

00:
30:58,147 -- 00:31:00,566

Me? I don't have as much meat as you.

413

00:
31:01,693 -- 00:31:03,360

This tastes good.

414

00:
31:15,623 -- 00:31:16,915

What do your parents do?

415

00:
31:17,083 -- 00:31:17,958

Mine?

416

00:
31:18,710 -- 00:31:20,460

My parents retired early.

417

00:
31:20,628 -- 00:31:22,170

They opened a noodle shop.

418

00:
31:22,338 -- 00:31:25,090

And my father gambles everyday.

419

00:
31:25,258 -- 00:31:26,383

It's so annoying.

420

00:
31:26,551 -- 00:31:28,802

e beats me whenever he loses money.

421

00:
31:30,638 -- 00:31:32,639

Sit over here.

422

00:
31:32,932 -- 00:31:34,600

Let me take a look at your palm.

423

00:
31:37,896 -- 00:31:39,062

Hand.

424

00:
31:40,106 -- 00:31:43,358

You see your hand, your hand is fat.

But your hand is rough.

425

00:
31:43,610 -- 00:31:44,902

Rough is not good.

426

00:
31:45,069 -- 00:31:46,194

Did you see your career lines.

You see?

427

00:
31:46,362 -- 00:31:49,740

You see? There are many lines,

crossing here and there.

428

00:
31:49,908 -- 00:31:50,866

Do you have a job?

429

00:
31:51,034 -- 00:31:53,452

I... I enjoy dancing like Michael Jackson.

430

00:
31:53,620 -- 00:31:54,995

I like him very much.

431

00:
31:55,163 -- 00:31:57,706

When he's on the stage,

the feeling is too wild.

432

00:
31:57,874 -- 00:31:58,957

Ah, that feeling.

433

00:
32:03,379 -- 00:32:05,505

And his sliding steps.

434

00:
32:07,926 -- 00:32:10,177

Fortunately, Michael Jackson lives in the US.

435

00:
32:10,345 -- 00:32:12,888

If he sees you, he will will die of anger.

436

00:
32:13,097 -- 00:32:15,515

Come come, let me look at your love lines.

437

00:
32:17,602 -- 00:32:22,105

Your love lines are messed up too.

438

00:
32:22,273 -- 00:32:24,316

You will be all alone in the future.

lonely person.

439

00:
32:24,484 -- 00:32:26,693
