Buddha Mountain Page #5

Synopsis: When they are evicted from their apartment in a provincial city in Northern China, a young bar singer and her two male friends rent rooms from a retired opera singer in Peking. The free-spirited young people chafe against a myriad of rules from their controlling landlady. They retaliate by playing unkind practical jokes on the older woman, who pays them back in kind. Their contest of wills escalates, culminating in a violation of trust by the tenants, but eventually the generations learn from each other and a familial bond is formed between them.

Really miserable.

440

00:
32:26,903 -- 00:32:28,612

I... I don't want you

to read anymore.

441

00:
32:28,780 -- 00:32:29,863

It's alright, let me read more.

442

00:
32:30,031 -- 00:32:30,906

No, no that's enough.

443

00:
32:31,074 -- 00:32:33,200

- Do you know why you are so fat?

- I don't want you to read anymore.

444

00:
32:33,576 -- 00:32:36,328

That is because you died of starvation,

in your previous life.

445

00:
32:37,080 -- 00:32:39,623

This current life is to make up for that.

446

00:
32:39,791 -- 00:32:41,208

This is a good thing.

447

00:
32:41,376 -- 00:32:43,251

Dancing may make you slimmer.

448

00:
32:43,419 -- 00:32:46,088

I don't want. I don't want.

449

00:
33:05,608 -- 00:33:06,858

Have you seen my jeans?

450

00:
33:07,110 -- 00:33:09,111

Get up, get up.

451

00:
33:24,210 -- 00:33:26,044

Madam?

452

00:
33:28,339 -- 00:33:30,007

Madam?

453

00:
33:50,236 -- 00:33:50,986

F***!

454

00:
33:51,154 -- 00:33:52,529

This woman.

455

00:
33:56,492 -- 00:33:57,826

Cut up my jeans.

456

00:
34:30,985 -- 00:34:31,985

Wah.

457

00:
34:42,080 -- 00:34:43,997

Dating a rich guy, huh?

458

00:
35:10,900 -- 00:35:12,484

How's it?

459

00:
35:20,993 -- 00:35:21,993

Choose a lively one.

460

00:
35:22,161 -- 00:35:25,872

It's too big, it's too big. Cannot.

Get a smaller one, we don't have so many people.

461

00:
35:26,374 -- 00:35:27,833

- A smaller one?

- Yes.

462

00:
35:29,502 -- 00:35:30,794

Sure. This one's okay.

463

00:
35:32,380 -- 00:35:33,922

Do you sell fake money?

464

00:
35:34,090 -- 00:35:37,467

Fake money?

You mean hell money for the dead?

465

00:
35:37,635 -- 00:35:40,387

To the living it's fake,

to the dead it's real money.

466

00:
35:40,596 -- 00:35:41,596

Can I have a look?

467

00:
35:41,764 -- 00:35:43,598

- The ones on the left. Yes, this one.

- This one?

468

00:
35:47,103 -- 00:35:48,979

We also have British pounds and US dollars.

469

00:
35:49,147 -- 00:35:50,564

It's fine, I just want these.

470

00:
35:51,065 -- 00:35:52,190

Give me some more.

471

00:
35:52,525 -- 00:35:53,775

Not enough.

472

00:
35:58,406 -- 00:36:00,240

What about now?

473

00:
36:00,408 -- 00:36:02,075

Cannot. We need a few more.

474

00:
36:09,584 -- 00:36:11,376

Track her usage of cash.

475

00:
36:11,586 -- 00:36:12,127

Okay.

476

00:
36:12,295 -- 00:36:13,837

Don't let her notice that her money is gone.

477

00:
36:42,867 -- 00:36:44,075

What is she doing?

478

00:
36:47,163 -- 00:36:48,663

She seems to be crying.

479

00:
36:48,998 -- 00:36:50,999

She has another room there?

480

00:
36:51,250 -- 00:36:53,126

Is anything hidden there?

481

00:
36:53,794 -- 00:36:54,961

Let's check it out.

482

00:
37:16,901 -- 00:37:18,151

Try using this.

483

00:
37:18,319 -- 00:37:19,694

It's unlocked.

484

00:
37:21,197 -- 00:37:22,239

Be quick.

485

00:
37:22,406 -- 00:37:23,448

There's no rush.

486

00:
37:27,370 -- 00:37:28,286

Watch out!

487

00:
37:30,331 -- 00:37:31,498

F***!

488

00:
37:35,044 -- 00:37:37,003

Did she smash this car?

489

00:
37:42,218 -- 00:37:43,510

Let's listen to some music.

490

00:
38:10,621 -- 00:38:12,455

What's happening?

Turn it off. Turn it off.

491

00:
38:25,094 -- 00:38:26,261

What happened?

492

00:
38:26,637 -- 00:38:27,637

I don't know.

493

00:
38:27,805 -- 00:38:29,431

The truck seems to have flipped over.

494

00:
38:39,275 -- 00:38:43,778

Fill the tank.

495

00:
38:54,999 -- 00:38:57,375

Ding Bo, let's go up that cliff over there

496

00:
39:08,971 -- 00:39:11,264

- Fatso.

- Fatso, where are you going?

497

00:
39:18,481 -- 00:39:19,856

Guanyin Temple.

498

00:
39:20,191 -- 00:39:21,191

Is this a temple?

499

00:
39:21,359 -- 00:39:22,192

Yes.

500

00:
39:26,322 -- 00:39:27,530

What happened here?

501

00:
39:27,698 -- 00:39:28,823

It must be an earthquake.

502

00:
39:32,870 -- 00:39:33,870

Too scary.

503

00:
39:34,163 -- 00:39:36,122

Look, the statue's lost its arms.

504

00:
39:36,290 -- 00:39:37,457

Virgin boy and virgin girl statues.

505

00:
39:43,589 -- 00:39:44,464

I'm exhausted.

506

00:
39:44,632 -- 00:39:45,757

Why did you guys steal my car?

507

00:
39:45,925 -- 00:39:47,884

Did you steal my keys?

508

00:
39:48,677 -- 00:39:49,761

Why did you dare to touch my...?

509

00:
39:49,929 -- 00:39:51,679

When did you, when did you take my keys?

510

00:
39:52,390 -- 00:39:57,143

Get lost! Get lost! All of you get lost!

Get lost! Get lost! All of you get lost!

511

00:
39:57,812 -- 00:40:00,105

This car...!

Who says you can touch it?

512

00:
40:01,065 -- 00:40:08,988

Get lost! Get lost! Get lost!

513

00:
41:41,499 -- 00:41:42,165

Open the door.

514

00:
41:42,333 -- 00:41:43,666

- You go.

- You go and open.

515

00:
41:44,335 -- 00:41:45,752

You just go.

516

00:
41:49,089 -- 00:41:50,173

Quick.

517

00:
41:55,054 -- 00:41:56,763

Is Master Chang at home?

518

00:
41:57,056 -- 00:41:58,056

Master Chang!

519

00:
41:59,058 -- 00:42:01,518

- Ah?

- pretty girl is here to look for you.

520

00:
42:03,479 -- 00:42:04,479

Sit.

521

00:
42:11,070 -- 00:42:12,487

Do you want some water?

522

00:
42:12,655 -- 00:42:14,572

I'm fine. No need.

523

00:
42:25,084 -- 00:42:26,167

Aye.

524

00:
42:26,335 -- 00:42:27,085

What?

525

00:
42:27,378 -- 00:42:28,586

Wash the dishes.

526

00:
42:47,398 -- 00:42:48,565

I cannot forget him.

527

00:
42:52,987 -- 00:42:54,195

So what do you want me to do?

528

00:
42:56,448 -- 00:42:57,657

You want me to comfort you, right?

529

00:
42:57,825 -- 00:42:58,700

You cannot forget him?

530

00:
43:02,413 -- 00:43:03,454

Why did you come here?

531

00:
43:04,456 -- 00:43:05,748

What is the meaning of this?

532

00:
43:08,168 -- 00:43:09,669

You came to remind me, right?

533

00:
43:09,837 -- 00:43:10,962

Today is his birthday, his death anniversary.

534

00:
43:11,130 -- 00:43:12,880

You want to remind me of that, is it?

535

00:
43:14,508 -- 00:43:16,884

What is the meaning of this?

Outrageous.

536

00:
43:27,479 -- 00:43:28,980

Why are you doing this for?

537

00:
43:29,148 -- 00:43:31,065

Are you here to celebrate his birthday?

538

00:
43:33,777 -- 00:43:35,069

You cannot forget him.

539

00:
43:36,280 -- 00:43:37,780

Do you want me to comfort you, right?

540

00:
43:37,948 -- 00:43:40,074

If I comfort you, Who will comfort me?

541

00:
43:41,952 -- 00:43:43,870

Why are you still such a romanticist?

542

00:
43:44,622 -- 00:43:46,372

You want to celebrate his birthday?

543

00:
43:46,540 -- 00:43:49,208

Eat the cake! Eat the cake!

544

00:
43:56,383 -- 00:43:58,301

You take a look.

545

00:
44:02,556 -- 00:44:03,556

Lin Yue.

546

00:
44:04,767 -- 00:44:06,559

If you weren't acting romantic that day.

547

00:
44:07,144 -- 00:44:10,355

Going for a birthday feast,

would he have died?

548

00:
44:17,946 -- 00:44:19,572

Can you eat it?

549

00:
44:22,785 -- 00:44:24,577

Can you eat it?

550

00:
44:26,080 -- 00:44:27,163

Can you eat it?

551

00:
44:27,331 -- 00:44:29,248
