Buddha Mountain Page #6

Synopsis: When they are evicted from their apartment in a provincial city in Northern China, a young bar singer and her two male friends rent rooms from a retired opera singer in Peking. The free-spirited young people chafe against a myriad of rules from their controlling landlady. They retaliate by playing unkind practical jokes on the older woman, who pays them back in kind. Their contest of wills escalates, culminating in a violation of trust by the tenants, but eventually the generations learn from each other and a familial bond is formed between them.

You can eat, but I cannot eat!

552

00:
44:31,251 -- 00:44:32,543

I'm sorry.

553

00:
44:32,878 -- 00:44:34,462

I really can't eat it!

554

00:
44:39,176 -- 00:44:43,054

Can you stop being a romanticist?

Can or not?

555

00:
45:02,449 -- 00:45:04,075

Let her quiet down.

556

00:
45:05,661 -- 00:45:07,161

What's going on?

557

00:
47:21,255 -- 00:47:22,171

Like a footprint.

558

00:
47:22,339 -- 00:47:23,464

There's another one there.

559

00:
47:24,049 -- 00:47:25,842

So many red ones, so beautiful.

560

00:
48:34,161 -- 00:48:34,869

Lay down, Lay down, Lay down.

561

00:
48:35,037 -- 00:48:36,454

You...

562

00:
48:36,622 -- 00:48:37,747

Quick.

563

00:
48:39,750 -- 00:48:41,334

Family members, please go out.

564

00:
48:41,501 -- 00:48:43,169

Family members, please wait outside.

565

00:
48:43,837 -- 00:48:45,546

It's her left arm, left arm...

566

00:
48:47,007 -- 00:48:49,258

Prepare the blood.

567

00:
49:08,528 -- 00:49:10,363

Thanks.

568

00:
50:12,467 -- 00:50:14,552

Why is this is always crooked?

569

00:
50:14,761 -- 00:50:16,637

I will change it, ok?

570

00:
50:17,973 -- 00:50:20,057

Are angles boys or girls?

571

00:
50:20,225 -- 00:50:22,127

- Should be a boy, look at Cupid.

- Both also have.

572

00:
50:22,227 -- 00:50:23,352

So what can I be?

573

00:
50:24,062 -- 00:50:25,855

I can be St. Maria.

574

00:
50:26,023 -- 00:50:29,984

The three of you... The three of you

are talking at the same time again.

575

00:
50:30,152 -- 00:50:33,154

It's so noisy, it's so noisy.

576

00:
50:33,321 -- 00:50:35,197

God... God said that...

577

00:
50:35,365 -- 00:50:37,283

He doesn't like Peking Opera.

578

00:
50:37,451 -- 00:50:38,784

He likes Rock and Roll most.

579

00:
50:38,952 -- 00:50:40,828

So you will have no opera.

No opera.

580

00:
50:40,996 -- 00:50:42,872

- You have been rejected by heaven.

- Rock and Roll.

581

00:
50:45,667 -- 00:50:47,543

It's you who bought all these cheapskate stuff.

582

00:
50:47,711 -- 00:50:48,794

It's Fatso.

583

00:
50:48,962 -- 00:50:50,046

It's because of you.

584

00:
50:50,213 -- 00:50:50,755

You bought it.

585

00:
50:50,922 -- 00:50:51,881

You bought it.

586

00:
50:52,049 -- 00:50:54,508

You see? The fur keeps falling off.

587

00:
50:54,676 -- 00:50:56,177

ow is it?

588

00:
50:56,344 -- 00:50:57,595

Feeling better?

589

00:
50:57,763 -- 00:50:58,846

You've been sleeping.

590

00:
50:59,014 -- 00:51:01,182

Since last night, until now then wake up.

591

00:
51:01,683 -- 00:51:04,060

Did you... Did you really pass out

or just sleeping?

592

00:
51:04,227 -- 00:51:05,936

- Buy me a new bedsheet.

- I'll get some hot water.

593

00:
51:06,104 -- 00:51:08,856

We will pay, we will pay.

How much?

594

00:
51:09,066 -- 00:51:10,941

ow much?

595

00:
51:11,109 -- 00:51:12,902

I even cut up your bed sheet.

596

00:
51:17,115 -- 00:51:19,033

The bed sheet was new.

597

00:
51:22,412 -- 00:51:23,454

So you have to buy me a new one.

598

00:
51:23,622 -- 00:51:25,790

God said that as long as you are fine.

599

00:
51:26,750 -- 00:51:29,126

Tomorrow, tomorrow I will also

buy you a blanket.

600

00:
52:00,367 -- 00:52:03,244

Quick, quick.

Quick!

601

00:
52:03,453 -- 00:52:05,246

How come you are here?

602

00:
57:02,794 -- 00:57:04,628

Buddha Mountain

603

00:
57:05,213 -- 00:57:06,588

Fatso, back off a little bit.

604

00:
57:09,342 -- 00:57:11,218

F***! It's not stopping.

605

00:
57:22,021 -- 00:57:23,522

Let's wait for the next train then.

606

00:
57:29,028 -- 00:57:30,195

Stop eating, take my bag.

607

00:
57:32,782 -- 00:57:34,408

Five, six seven, eight, nine...

608

00:
57:34,576 -- 00:57:36,952

Ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen...

609

00:
57:37,120 -- 00:57:38,036

- Wait, wait...

- 28.

610

00:
57:38,204 -- 00:57:39,455

28, wait a moment.

611

00:
57:41,541 -- 00:57:42,541

28.

612

00:
57:49,257 -- 00:57:50,591

Slowly.

613

00:
57:51,634 -- 00:57:53,594

We'll have to think of something.

614

00:
57:53,761 -- 00:57:56,388

- And replace the fake bills with real ones.

- Sure.

615

00:
58:49,943 -- 00:58:51,318

Do you want soup?

616

00:
58:51,778 -- 00:58:53,195

Drink some soup!

617

00:
58:53,947 -- 00:58:56,406

Women need to drink more soup.

618

00:
58:59,285 -- 00:59:00,994

ey, your car is fixed.

619

00:
59:01,162 -- 00:59:02,621

Our car?

620

00:
59:03,081 -- 00:59:04,456

You have finished fixing?

621

00:
59:04,624 -- 00:59:06,124

It's done?

622

00:
59:10,922 -- 00:59:12,339

It looks like a new one.

623

00:
59:25,562 -- 00:59:27,104

It doesn't.

624

00:
59:29,691 -- 00:59:32,943

- It's done, it's done.

- It looks so different.

625

01:
00:22,035 -- 01:00:27,039

Wenchuan Earthquake, 5-12-2008

626

01:
00:32,003 -- 01:00:33,337

Earthquake

627

01:
00:37,091 -- 01:00:39,343

It's still shaking, it's still shaking!

628

01:
00:39,510 -- 01:00:40,844

Everything's collapsing.

629

01:
01:03,034 -- 01:01:05,035

Put him down, put him down.

630

01:
01:08,039 -- 01:01:09,831

- Faster.

- The kid's still stuck underneath.

631

01:
01:10,333 -- 01:01:12,125

Doctor, save her.

632

01:
01:41,489 -- 01:01:44,241

Everything seems destroyed.

633

01:
01:46,661 -- 01:01:48,662

Look at that Goddess of Mercy.

634

01:
01:49,872 -- 01:01:51,289

Don't step and break things.

635

01:
01:51,499 -- 01:01:53,834

This is a really good place.

636

01:
01:56,295 -- 01:01:58,380

This temple must have been very beautiful

in the past.

637

01:
01:58,548 -- 01:02:00,215

Absolutely.

638

01:
02:05,430 -- 01:02:08,140

If there are helpers, I can rebuild faster.

639

01:
02:08,558 -- 01:02:10,976

- Really, really?

- It will be faster.

640

01:
02:11,144 -- 01:02:13,311

Master, tomorrow I'll come and help you mix the mud.

641

01:
02:13,479 -- 01:02:15,313

Sure. Thanks, thanks.

642

01:
02:17,483 -- 01:02:19,401

Aren't we supposed to take photos?

643

01:
02:20,278 -- 01:02:21,570

- Yes.

- Did you bring the camera?

644

01:
02:21,738 -- 01:02:23,488

- Who...

- I brought it, I brought it, I brought it...

645

01:
02:24,490 -- 01:02:26,575

I said that I wanted to take a photo

with the three of you.

646

01:
02:30,204 -- 01:02:32,497

Who will take the photo for us?

647

01:
02:32,707 -- 01:02:33,498

Master.

648

01:
02:33,666 -- 01:02:34,958

Mind your steps.

649

01:
02:35,126 -- 01:02:37,169

Just put us inside this frame.

650

01:
02:37,336 -- 01:02:39,171

Then press this will do.

651

01:
02:39,338 -- 01:02:41,840

Put us all inside this frame.

652

01:
02:42,008 -- 01:02:44,634

- Press this. Right.

- This? Sure, sure, sure...

653

01:
02:44,802 -- 01:02:46,219

Put us all inside the frame.

654

01:
02:49,182 -- 01:02:50,515

- Done. All of you take a look.

- Good?

655

01:
02:50,683 -- 01:02:52,642

Take a look. Take a look and see.

656

01:
02:55,104 -- 01:02:57,647

- I look slimmer.

- Very good, very good.

657

01:
02:58,483 -- 01:02:59,900

- Thank you master.

- No problem.

658

01:
03:00,485 -- 01:03:02,819

This is a place that one can stay for long.
