FRANK:

Her name was Robin. That name ring

any bells?

PEDRO:

(thinking)

Nah I’m not familiar with any

Robin.

As soon as Pedro finishes his sentence Thug #1 rushed in.

THUG #1

You said Robin?

FRANK:

Yeah, do you know her?

He hesitates for a second.

THUG #1

Yeah, we was close. We wasn’t

together or anything, but it was

getting serious.

FRANK:

Great so do you know where she was

a couple of days ago?

PEDRO:

Yo I’ll give y’all your privacy.

I’m just about the drugs.

Pedro and the rest of his crew walk out the kitchen and close the door

behind them. Frank pulls up a chair for Thug # 1.

FRANK:

Did you know she was dead

THUG #1

(tears)

Nah I didn’t. I’ve been looking

for her. The last time I saw her

we got into this argument and-

FRANK:

You have to talk son you have to

give me something

THUG #1

She was pregnant. I told her to

quit but she wouldn’t listen. The

only reason she became a stripper

was to pay for school

21.

FRANK:

So she was in college?

THUG #1

Yeah online courses out of Utah.

She wanted to become a nurse.

FRANK:

So, she was a smart innocent girl

just trying to survive.

THUG #1

She was

FRANK:

Are you sure?

THUG #1

What the f*** are you trying to

say you know she was murdered

FRANK:

I know she was, but it was how she

was murdered... I’ll save you the

details, but her body parts were

not attached

THUG #1

What? So some motherf***er like...

Before he could finish his sentence, he runs to the sink and throws up

FRANK:

So if you know something other

than a common dispute, let me

know.

THUG #1

(Getting himself together)

Well, she did say it use to be

this older guy that would always

be texting her and calling at the

weirdest of hours.

FRANK A name?

THUG #1

His name was Arthur, I believe.

Yeah Arthur. She would dance with

him, give him some drinks so he

could tip well, but after that she

would tell me he would follow her

home and sh*t that’s when I got

tired and one day, I caught him-

THUG #1

I know you a cop. I’m done

22.

Frank sighs.

FRANK:

Listen I don’t care. I’m only here

for the sake of that girl and if

you want to play baby gangster,

just know he not only killed one

person but two.

THUG #1

I caught him in my girls driveway,

just watching. I had a bat, so I

started beating his car and

beating him until he was real

f***ed up, ya know. What’s a man

supposed to do? Just let his girl

get harassed by some freak?

FRANK:

After that what happened?

THUG #1

He stopped. Like everything was

back to normal, so I thought he

got the message but clearly, he

didn’t.

FRANK:

Do you know where I can find him?

THUG #1

I don’t but she keeps her clients

in her notes in her phone so if

you get the phone, then bingo.

FRANK:

Thank you and listen to me we

going to get this son of a b*tch.

THUG #1

You better get him before we do.

FRANK:

Stand down. You don’t want to come

between a whole police department

cause of some personal agenda.

THUG #1

Well do your job

Here you go

Detective Rodgers slides the phone across the table.

DETECTIVE RODGERS

Did you find something?

Frank scrolls through the phone, looking through the notes. A list of

Robins clients are listed in bold letters.

Frank spots the name Author, followed by a last name, and an address.

FRANK:

Got who?

Detective Rodgers looks at Frank and back at William.
