[Hedwig pushes the turncoat out of the light...]

Hedwig:
Hey, what's up?

[...before giving it to Patricia]

Patricia:
Don't worry. We don't need him anyway. There are still ten of us.

[A couple of miles away, several police officers are getting ready]

Elijah:
It appears The Beast is not done here yet.

[Patricia once again takes her upper clothing off. Two officers are communicating to someone with a police radio]

Police Officer:
We've got eyes on him. Please advise. (beat) Please advise.

[They look back, too late, as The Beast jumps on top of the officers. One of them tries to crawl away, but the monster drags him back. Elijah, now outside, turns around to the front door of the institution]

Elijah:
The collection of main characters.

[His mother, Casey and Joseph are standing on the steps of Raven Hill. The showdown is about to begin. The Beast steps forward, his mouth dripping with blood and dragging the two police officers' bodies over the ground. On the other side on the parking lot, in front of the black van, David is standing ready. Dr. Staple, looking outside in horror, walks back in, giving orders]

Dr. Staple:
(in the walkie talkie) Keep patients and staff away from the south-side windows. Authorities are on their way.

[The Beast runs forward, gets on its hands and feets and runs to The Overseer. He pushes him against the black van, the two captured women are screaming frightfully. David momentarily gets the upper hand and grabs The Beast by its neck. During the fight, we occasionally cut to security footage]

David:
Okay. I got you.

[He tries to punch in its face, but he only dents the van. The Beast then turns the tide]

The Beast:
You will learn to kneel... before the broken.

[During the scuffle, several SWAT officers are forming a batallion to pull the two brawlers apart. Casey runs towards them]

Casey:
I need to explain. He has D.I.D. He believes he's an animal.

SWAT Officer #1:
Keep moving.

Casey:
No, you don't understand. All he knows is pain. You're going to get hurt. Somebody, please... (to another officer) He has D.I.D. We can get the compassionate people inside him to help you.

[The officer pushes her aside]

SWAT Officer #2:
Stay here.

Elijah (vo):
You're the girl The Beast let go.

[Casey turns around and sees Mr. Glass, smiling and enjoying the show. Eight officers run to the two superhumans and try to interrupt the fight. Four try to grab David, while four others try to shield off The Beast. David pushes them back, while The Beast attacks them one by one]

David:
Stay away from him. Go!

[David slowly, step by step, pushes the officers away from The Beast. On the other side, one of the SWAT guys has been pushed on the ground, with only his shield between himself and his attacker. The Beast tries to break it, while another officer hits him from the back. The unfortunate officer gets slammed against the shield. The Overseer pushes his attackers in a nearby container]

David:
I'm just trying to save you.

[He closes the doors and puts a steel bar through the grips of the container. The Beast pulls the shield of the incapacitated officer away, before growling and eating him. The Overseer, meanwhile, bends the steel bar with his bare hands to prevent the officers from getting out. Dr. Staple makes her way to Casey]

Dr. Staple:
Casey, the light won't work out here now. You have to be the one to get Kevin to come out. We need to get them inside to safety. Do you hear me?

[The girl nods and runs to the battle. The Beast looks up, his mouth again dripping with blood and ready to continue the fight]

Joseph (vo):
(to his father, his voice coming from the ear buds) Dad, there are two tactical teams on the way.

[David then hears something. He breaks the van doors open and frees the two women]

David:
Get back inside. Hurry. Get inside the building.

[He helps them get out. They run away from the fight while The Beast climbs onto the vehicle, yelling and growling. Elijah has wheeled himself to the van as well. He looks at the water tank]

Elijah:
The water used for David's room. There's water in that tank. I know he almost drowned when he was a child. Water is his weakness.

[Joseph runs towards them]

Joseph:
Hey! Hey!

[He steps between David and The Beast]

David:
Joseph!

Joseph:
(to The Beast) He's lying to you. In comics, the parents of the villains always hold a key to understanding them. He's not telling you something.

David:
Joseph, get back!

[Elijah looks down, remorsefully]

Elijah:
Don't... tell him yet.

Joseph:
Kevin's dad didn't just take any train and not come home.

[The Beast seems to calm down, he's listening. We cut to a moment in the past]

Conductor (vo):
Eastrail 177. Next stop, Philadelphia.

[A little boy and his mother are standing on the outside of a train window. The boy waves goodbye and briefly runs along with the departing train before his mother pulls him back. We see a briefcase with the name "Crumb" printed on it. The man sitting next to it. Clarence Crumb, is reading a flyer about D.I.D. The camera pans out as the scene seamlessly transitions into the opening scene of Unbreakable, where Kelly walks towards David Dunn]

Joseph (vo):
He took the train my dad was on. The one that everyone died except my dad.

[We see Elijah leaving the driver's cab of the train after sabotaging it, before we return to the present]

Joseph:
That's the key to who you are. Mr. Glass killed Kevin's dad.

[Following that revelation, The Beast drops down from the vehicle and charges at Elijah with murderous intent]

Elijah (vo):
It's all evidence, you see?

[We see that Elijah isn't scared at all, he's throughly amazed at what he has created]

Elijah:
If that train crash hadn't happened, Kevin wouldn't have been left alone with his mother. If Kevin's mother wasn't allowed to continue to abuse him, then The Beast wouldn't have had to be born. What are the odds that David Dunn and Clarence Wendell Crumb would be together that day? (smiling) Amazing. I created you, as I created David. It just took longer. Nineteen years. They almost convinced me I was crazy. I create superheroes. I truly am a mastermind.

The Beast:
I thank you for what you did. But I came to protect Kevin. And I cannot trust you to keep him safe.

[The Beast firmly grabs Elijah's left shoulder and crushes it. Elijah and his mother both scream in agony]

David:
Hey. We still haven't settled that kneeling thing.

Elijah:
(laughing, breathing heavily) Ah, the classic turn. The enemy becomes the ally… because of the hero's... unflinching sense of good.

[The Beast punches Elijah in the gut, breaking his rib cage and pushing him away. He then grabs David and flings him straight into the water tank before diving after him. Elijah tries to stand up, but he falls forward and breaks his legs. In the tank, The Beast seems to have the upper hand on David. The Overseer looks around in terror, before he starts to punch the side of the water tank. The tank starts to break and small streams of water start to pour out. One more punch... and the tank breaks. Both David and The Beast fall through the hole out of the tank. Water flows everywhere, turning the earth to mud and filling a nearby pothole. David rolls around and then slumps down, unable to move. The Beast gets up]
