CLIFFORD:

What if the Shadows try to fill the void?

SABINE:

A void that hasn't been filled for the past 200 years?

CLIFFORD:

I don't know.

NIGEL:

We have yet to identify the cause of their appearance and the goal of the organization. But they have plenty of businesses across the metropolis. Haven't been able to identify any of them. But for now, that is none of your concern. Today is your first day in MOSIUS, take some time to settle in. I will arrange a dorm for you.

Clifford is stunned for mere moments.

CLIFFORD:

Wait. A dorm?

SABINE:

Now that you are part of MOSIUS, you have your own dorm in the MOSIUS base. It's two levels down here.

CLIFFORD:

(in an excited tone) That means, I don’t have to stay with my parents anymore? I can finally be free?

SABINE:

Exactly!

CLIFFORD:

Oh my god! Thanks, Sabine!

Clifford hugs Sabine.

SABINE:

Now! Now! Go! You have a whole base to explore.

NIGEL:

I am going to make an official tour for you soon. For now, here!

Nigel throws a keycard at Clifford. This keycard is inside a holder with the number 0722 on it.

CLIFFORD:

0722? Huh. Ironic. That's my birthday.

NIGEL:

Heh, then I think you will enjoy this room.

CLIFFORD:

You know. I think I saw you somewhere else. But I can't exactly place where.

NIGEL:

Maybe I just have a common face.

Clifford looks at Nigel. Nigel's phone begins ringing. He excuses himself and leaves into another room.

CLIFFORD:

I am going to go. I wanna see my room.

SABINE:

Have fun.

Clifford opens the doors of the control room. Sabine speaks again and Clifford turns his head around.

SABINE:

And Clifford... Welcome to MOSIUS!

Clifford salutes Sabine and leaves the room, leaving Sabine alone. Sabine grabs the file Nigel left behind on his desk and looks at it.

SABINE:

What are you hiding, Nigel?

Sabine folds the paper and slips it into her pocket, then marches through the door.

INT. MOSIUS HEADQUARTERS - B3 - CLIFFORD'S DORM. DAY.

Clifford lies down in bed and checks his phone. He exclaims in a surprised tone.

CLIFFORD:

Well, I guess that such equipment requires lots of signal. Explains why I have a signal so deep underground.

Clifford opens his contact list then calls John. John answers.

JOHN:

Clifford, are you okay?

CLIFFORD:

Hey, yeah. Sorry I got rushed to the hospital.

JOHN:

What are you alright?

CLIFFORD:

Yeah but listen. Can you do me a favor?

JOHN:

Yeah?

CLIFFORD:

If Sarah or Callum calls, tell them I am sleeping over at you. I don't want them to worry. Don't tell them about the shooting!

JOHN:

Why? Clifford, they are going to question stuff!

CLIFFORD:

Listen, they cannot know. Neither can you. Just please do this favor for me!

JOHN:

I am coming to the hospital!

CLIFFORD:

No John! I am not at the hospital.

John stops for a moment. His voice shifts to a concerned and angry tone.

JOHN:

Clifford, where are you?

CLIFFORD:

I am over at Sabine's. She's looking out for me. Don't tell my parents, please! They will kill me!

JOHN:

What are you doing at Sabine?

CLIFFORD:

John stop asking questions, and do as I say! Okay?

JOHN:

I... Okay... Understood.

CLIFFORD:

Thanks.

Clifford hangs up and throws the phone in the bed. Clifford sighs and lays down on his bed. Clifford gets up and opens a white closet, in which he finds MOSIUS armor.

INT. MOSIUS HEADQUARTERS - B1 - CONTROL ROOM. DAY

Nigel walks into the control room, headed to the location of where the file Sabine picked was. Nigel looks around his desk, but cannot find it.

NIGEL:

Sabine?

SABINE:

Yeah? Need help?

NIGEL:

Have you seen that document I carried today before meeting with Clifford?

SABINE:

What document?

NIGEL:

I was carrying one. It's important... personal research. Please, tell me you know where it is!

SABINE:

No. I don't sorry.

NIGEL:

It's ok.

SABINE:

So... How's the new recruit?

NIGEL:

He is okay. Can I ask you a question? Have you discovered that today?

SABINE:

You knew about his ability already, hadn't you?

NIGEL:

I just needed it to be awoken. He was of no use without the ability.

SABINE:

So you’re telling me you’re using him for the ability?

NIGEL:

He’s going to give us the intel on his parents-

SABINE:

So that’s what you chose him for? To spy on his a**hole parents? Well you chose the wrong kid!

NIGEL:

What are you talking about?

SABINE:

Clifford was never close to his parents. Neither Callum. Only Sarah. And if Kiara finds out about Sarah…

NIGEL:

It’ll happen like with Kyle and Polly.

SABINE:

Exactly! You know how careful the Reyes couple is with this.

NIGEL:

So I chose that kid for nothing.

SABINE:

If you would’ve seen Clifford in action when it came to evacuating those kids, you’d know he has potential.

NIGEL:

I know he’s good at hand to hand combat. I saw it last week. And you’re right… he has a good heart.

SABINE:

Then why doubting?

NIGEL:

I am just scared.

SABINE:

Of what?

NIGEL:

That Kiara and Tony will find out!

The emergency alarm sounds off as Clifford enters the control room, wearing his armor. Clifford, Sabine and Nigel look at the largest screen on the wall.

CLIFFORD:

What’s that sound?

NIGEL:

A break in! Nurona’s Bank!

CLIFFORD:

The Dockside or Financial District?

NIGEL:

The latter!

CLIFFORD:

Sh*t!

NIGEL:

What happened?

CLIFFORD:

My parents are there now! We gotta get over there!

NIGEL:

A unit is already dispatched. You stay here!

CLIFFORD:

(in a confused voice) What?

NIGEL:

We can’t risk your parents to recognize you! They find out about you, you are out of MOSIUS!

CLIFFORD:

Fine! You are right. I am off the field.

Clifford retreats into his dorm room.

CLIFFORD:

Hmm… What if they don’t see me?

Clifford holds a piece of fabric.

INT. NURONA’S BANK. DAY.

Shadow Members and a Lieutenant, all wearing black and dark purple clothes, are holding the customers hostage and force the manager to open the bank’s transactions logs.

SHADOW MEMBER 1

Everyone down!

The Shadow Member shoots in the air their gun.

SHADOW LIEUTENANT

You! Open the system! Now!

The Shadow Lieutenant grabs the bank manager. MOSIUS Agents arrive at the bank, the agents wearing their light gray and light teal armor. The MOSIUS Agents point their guns at the Members and the Lieutenant.

MOSIUS AGENT 1

Place your hands up!

Tony whispers to Kiara, both of them being counted among the hostages.

TONY:

Here come the MOSIUS a**holes!

SHADOW LIEUTENANT

What can you do to stop us? We are equal in numbers, equal in arsenal! But we have the hostages as an advantage! You come near us, we kill them.

The Shadow Lieutenant is shot dead in the head. The hostages scream. The Shadows gasp in surprise.

SHADOW MEMBER:

(shocked) What? The Lieutenant is dead!

MOSIUS AGENT 1

Everyone get out now!

The MOSIUS Agents shoot the Shadow members while the hostages run out of the building. Clifford appears from behind an upper pillar, wearing a mask that covers his entire face.

CLIFFORD:

Not so equal in numbers now huh?

INT. NURONA’S BANK - BACK HALL. DAY

The back corridor of the bank is covered in smoke. Flashlights from the MOSIUS guns light the room.
