KOFI:

(worried)

Yep, that thing was alive, it asked what we are doing here. Are you ok?

Did it get you bad?

Breathless and with hearts still pounding, Foz and Kofi slow their pace. Foz looks down at her arms, noticing the cuts and grazes left behind by the thorns they encountered.

FOZ:

Just scratches. And my dress is in rags. I’m ok, as long as there aren’t any more surprises. That was scary.

KOFI:

The quicker we find this tree, the quicker we’re out of here. I mean we also need to watch our surroundings.

A bush almost followed us. A bush!

Foz and Kofi disappear into the sheltering of the tall trees. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the large man and his rooster emerge from behind. The man clamps his hand over Foz’s mouth and swiftly carries her away. Within moments, Kofi realizes Foz is no longer with him.

KOFI (CONT'D)

(panicking) Foz? Where are you?

With nothing but silence surrounding him, Kofi bolts into the wooded area, desperately searching for any sign of Foz.

INT. - SHED IN THE WOODS - DAY

In the dark shed, Foz sits on a chair, her hands tightly

bound behind her back.

FOZ:

Who are you and what do you want from me?

AMON:

(deep voice)

Don’t worry about me kid. You need to go back home.

FOZ:

I’m not going back home yet.

AMON:

I know what you’re looking for.

That fruit is not yours.

FOZ:

Why can’t I have it? Its finders’ keepers.

AMON:

Don’t get yourself involved in things that are bigger than you.

The two sit in tense silence as Amon carefully sharpens a large axe. Foz, though terrified, fights to keep her emotions under control, her eyes fixed on the blade.

EXT. - WATERING HOLE - AFTERNOON

Kofi, feeling helpless and exhausted, paces in circles, his

mind racing as he struggles to figure out what to do next.

KOFI:

(Calls out)

Foz, where are you?

I’m sorry, I’m not good at this.

The animals at the watering hole scatter in panic as a sudden gushing sound erupts. In the centre of the crystal-clear water, a swirling vortex begins to form, growing stronger by the second. As Kofi stares in shock, an unseen force suddenly hurls him backward, slamming him against a rock.

FADE OUT:

FADE IN:

Kofi slowly moves his limbs, lifting his head with effort. As he opens his eyes, disbelief washes over him—standing before him is the towering figure of a giant blue bird. Its crystal-like glass body shimmers brilliantly under the sunlight, casting gentle reflections around him.

KOFI (CONT'D) Oh my God!

BLOOG:

(deep gentle voice) Do not worry child. I am here to help you, not harm you.

KOFI:

Who are you? How can I trust you?

BLOOG I am Bloog.

My mission is to reunite you with your friend. I know where she is!

Trusting in Bloog, Kofi leaps onto its back. With a powerful flap of its wings, they soar high above the watering hole, gliding gracefully into the distance.

EXT. - THE WOODS - AFTERNOON

Bloog and Kofi land behind the shed with a resounding thud,

the impact shaking the ground beneath them.

INSIDE THE SHED:

Hearing the noise from behind the shed, Foz grows anxious and desperately tries to wriggle free from the chair. She hears the rustling of leaves and the muffled sound of a

familiar voice.

KOFI:

(whispers) Foz.

FOZ:

In here. Inside the shed, hurry.

Kofi runs and quickly enters the shed. He begins to untie

Foz’s arms.

FOZ (CONT'D)

I’m so glad to see you.

How did you know I was going to be here.

KOFI:

You wouldn’t believe it if I told you! I flew here, on a magical creature that talks.

FOZ No way. Where is it?

Foz and Kofi quickly exit the shed. Outside, Foz glances up at Bloog, standing tall and glowing under the sunlight.

OUTSIDE THE SHED

FOZ (CONT'D) Wow.

BLOOG:

Hello child. I am Bloog, and I am not an “it”.

FOZ Sorry.

BLOOG:

Don’t worry about it. Where are the two of you off to now.

KOFI:

Please take us to the woods we flew over earlier.

FOZ:

Yes please. We’re on a tight schedule. And thank you in advance.

Foz and Kofi leap onto Bloog’s back.

BLOOG Hold tight.

They soar above the lush, green landscape, toward the dark,

mysterious wooded area looming on the horizon.

EXT. - DEEP IN THE WOODS - AFTERNOON

In the heart of the forest surrounded by towering trees, they find themselves immersed in a kaleidoscope of colours. Trees with leaves of shimmering gold, some pink and others blue.

Foz grabs the book.

FOZ:

'The one you hear is not the one you're looking for.'

KOFI:

Honestly, how do we hear a tree?

FOZ I’m not sure.

KOFI:

Maybe you will hear a tree if you light one of your own. (laughs)

If you know what I mean.

FOZ:

(chuckles) I know right.

Kofi stands beside a short tree with leaves of a vibrant hue.

KOFI:

Maybe this is the one. It looks like it’s hiding something. Let’s see if it talks, shall we!

(Kofi puts his ear to the tree)

Nothing! Maybe it needs some love, like a hug.
