Hundreds of residents are

expected to turn out at a hearing tonight

to discuss charges of corruption

in the commuter rail industry.

President Arthur Mydanick

called the meeting amid criticism

his office isn't doing enough

to resolve this escalating scandal.

It may lead to the indictment of local

politicians and rail industry executives.

The controversy was sparked when MC yardmaster Elliot Gourwitz was killed

and police officer Gerald Rifkin injured

in an attack at the Sunnyside yards.

There have since been several protests.

Including last week's demonstration

that turned violent.

In all. 29 people were arrested

for assault and disorderly conduct.

Police are still looking for Leo Handler.

The only suspect in the Gourwitz murder.
