[Eddie] Not serious.

- This is just fun.

- [Eva] Okay.

- [Eddie] That's it.

- [Eva] I'm gonna have fun.

[Eddie] Okay, hold on.

I gotta park this well,

so he doesn't make fun of me too bad.

- Okay.

- [chuckles]

- Okay. Here's what's gonna happen.

- Okay.

We're gonna get to the door.

My brother's gonna make fun

of my parking job.

- Then he's gonna make fun of my clothes.

- [chuckles]

His joke will not be funny.

Then he's gonna look over at you

and have a realization and go, like,

"Well, you look so lovely."

Then you've gotta say, "Oh, thank you."

And then he's gonna do

this big show of, like,

"Welcome to the Taj Mahal."

I'm wondering if you could get any further

from the curb.

- [Eddie] Okay.

- [chuckles]

Ron, this is Eva.

- Eva, this is my brother.

- Hello.

- Eva, pleasure to meet you. Welcome.

- [chuckles]

Great, you did your shopping

at Schlub For Less?

- Great. Fantastic.

- Yeah.

You look spectacular.

- Oh, thank you so much.

- You're welcome.

Welcome to Garrett Manor.

[all chuckling]

Oh. Sense of humor, too. Very nice.

- Yeah, very.

- Welcome. Come on in.

- Come on in to this, my humble abode.

- [Eddie] Okay.

Why are you jogging like that, Ron?

- I'm excited.

- Did you see the way...

I'm excited!

- [Eva] Yeah, we are, too.

- I'm excited you're here.

- [Eddie] Well, our dad, you know...

- Had to buy in a lot.

Yeah, he played a lot of cards...

and lost a lot.

So as they're sitting with him,

our dad was constantly going,

"Chips! Chips!"

Until, finally, they just said,

"Hey, Chips, let's go to the casino."

And he would say, "Okay."

And so he was Chips.

- [Ron] Yeah.

- [Eva] Maybe I'm just lucky.

- [Eddie] Yeah?

- [Eva] Yeah.

[Eva] I don't think I'm such...

I mean, that good of a mom.

She's just amazing...

[Eddie] She's an amazing mom.

- [Kris] I bet.

- I'm sure she is.

[Kris] And it's hard

to be a single mom.

- Thank you.

- Yeah.

But she must love Eddie.

I bet they get along really well.

[Eva] Well...

[chuckles]

- Yeah, go ahead. I don't care.

- Well... she doesn't know him yet.

- [Kris] You haven't met her yet?

- [Ron] You guys haven't met?

- [Kris] Oh, okay.

- [Ron] Okay.

- I don't know. I mean...

- [Kris] Takin' it slow?

Yeah, I think there's, like,

many filters you have to go through

when you have kids, so...

- [Eddie] Which I agree with.

- Yeah, absolutely.

[Eva] Yeah, I mean, if this is real,

Eddie will have enough time

to get along with her, but...

she has never met any of my boyfriends

or people that I'm going out with

- or anything.

- Yeah, so...

we think it's smart, but I'm excited

- for the day when you say yes.

- [Eva] You would be the first.

You're a smart lady. Yes.

- [Eddie] I'll be excited to meet her.

- [Eva] Yeah?

I don't introduce Jude

to any of the guys that I'm dating.

- Mmm-mmm. Mmm-mmm.

- [all chuckling]

- Nice move.

- [Kris] It's a firm rule.

- How 'bout...

- I'm on a need-to-know basis.

These are tomatoes.

Look, there's a ripe one.

- Really?

- Yeah.

- She's amazing. She's incredible.

- I think so, too.

- I really like her.

- Do not mess this up.

I love her. I love her.

- Okay, I'm not planning that.

- I know you're not.

- I'm just saying, I love... I like her.

- Yes.

- [Eddie] I do, too.

- [Ron] A lot.

- [Eddie] Me, too. She's great.

- [Ron] Yeah.

- [Eddie] It's gonna be good.

- [Ron] That's good.

Like, she's just...

You do not faze her at all.

- Okay, I... I'm not, like, a mobster.

- [both laughing]

Well, I really appreciate you coming.

I really liked it.

- You did?

- Yeah. I had a lot of fun.

Good. I actually had fun, too.

- I never have fun when it's with...

- [both chuckle]

- With my brother, I know.

- Aw.

- But this was great.

- I know.

- But thank you.

- [Eva chuckles softly]

[Eddie sighs]

[sighs] Okay.

So, um, here's the thing.

Okay?

Uh, my mom and Emma,

they're watching a movie right now,

and they're coming back,

like, in one hour.

So maybe we can...

[both chuckling]

Wait.

Maybe we can...

[jazz music playing]

- Love you

- Oh, yes, I love you

- Need you

- Oh, yes, I need you

- Love you

- Oh, yes, I love you

Now, now, now, now

- Need you

- Oh, yes, I need you

- Need me

- Please say you need me too

- Love you

- Now I love you

- Need you

- Oh, yes, I need you now

[Eddie] I don't actually know

where I'm going.

- [Eva] Here.

- [Eddie] Okay.

[both laughing]

- Oh, yes, I need you

- Love you

Oh, yes, I love you now

- Now now now

- Need you

- Oh, yes, I need you

- Need me

- Please say you need m e too

- Love you

Now I love you

- Need you

- Oh, yes, I need you now

[cell phone ringing]

[sighs]

Okay.

Hello?

[automated voice]

You are receiving a collect call

from Cook County

Correctional Facility inmate...

Michael.

[automated voice] If you would like

to accept these charges, please press one.

If you would like to decline this call...

[dial tone]

[sighs and clears throat]

[Michael] Yo, Eddie. I got some good news.

Hey, what's up?

Hey, yo, they're gonna be

letting me outta here early.

When?

I'mma get out a week from tomorrow.

What? Wow.

Yeah, some clerical bullshit, man.

But, hey, they lettin' me out of here.

So, uh...

I hope everything's good there.

Yeah. Man, great. What... That's...

I mean, that's great news for me, too.

And listen. Don't worry, all right?

Our deal still stands.

I'll take care of you.

I'm... Yeah. I'm sure you will.

Great. This...

Man, this is a great day.

I... I was looking to get rid of it,

so... perfect.

All right. I'll see you next Monday.

Yes!

You good, Eddie?

[stammers]

Yeah, me? Yes. I'm excited.

Okay.

All right.

Be safe in there.

[call disconnects]

[sighs]

- Hey, bud. Okay.

- Eddie.

What's going on?

You're supposed to be in Ravenswood.

- Can I get a minute of your time?

- Five minutes.

- I understand. But can I... I know.

- You're here. At my desk.

I know, and I don't wanna be.

So can I just get...

I don't want you here either.

You need to...

- What are you doing?

- Ron... I...

This is the last thing that I wanna be

doing right now. You gotta know that.

[stammering] There was an... an unexpected

and unfortunate event...

I have an unexpected

and unfortunate event,

which is there's a push mower

that's not being pushed,

- and I'm a man down in my crew. Here's...

- I need...

- I need you to listen to me.

- What are you doing here?

[stammers] Just listen.

- The deal that we made...

- Yeah?

That's been going great.

So far. Until now.

But it's been...

I have lived up to everything I said.

Isn't that true?

- Isn't that true you've seen a change?

- Yeah.

Isn't that true that you've seen a change?

- Eddie, come on...

- Just listen to me, Ron!

Don't do that face. Listen!

I will just pay you back.

It'll just take longer.

- The same payment plan.

- It'll just take... Six weeks in?

You're asking me to give you the money

that we decided for six months?
