Tashi Anderson:
“Kick his butt, Caleb! It’s easy. He’s just a little baby.”

Caleb Johnston:
“You know what? Let’s settle this once and for all. Right here. Right now.”

The other kids in the schoolyard start chanting “Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Bader and Caleb Johnston get into a physical fight. The other kids gather around and watch.

Everleigh Labrant, Bader’s best friend, tries to break it up.

Everleigh Labrant: “Stop, guys! Stop! You’re hurting each other!”

Bader and Caleb Johnston push her away.

Bader:
“Stay out of this, Everleigh. This is between us.”

Caleb Johnston:
“Yeah, stay out of this.”

The fight continues and the boys hurt each other. Bader gets a swollen eye and Caleb Johnston also gets a swollen eye.

Finally, they stop fighting. They sit on the ground, panting and exhausted.

Caleb Johnston:
“I’m sorry, man. I don’t know what came over me.”

Bader:
“It’s okay. I forgive you.”

Caleb Johnston:
“Do you mean that? You’re not just saying that to be nice?”

Bader:
“Of course I mean it. We’ve been friends since we were little. We can’t let a stupid fight ruin that.”

Caleb Johnston:
“You’re right. I’m sorry for everything. Can we be friends again?”

Bader:
“Absolutely. Friends forever.”

Everyone cheers as Bader and Caleb Johnston embrace in a hug.

FADE OUT.

But over time, bader and caleb worked it out, and Caleb forgave Bader. They learned an important lesson about the consequences of getting themselves into trouble and taking responsibility for their actions

Bader:
“I’m going to make a cartoon character today, guys. You want to see?”

Caleb:
“Sure, let’s see what you’ve got!”

Everleigh:
“I can’t wait to see what you come up with, Bader!”

[Bader takes out his pencils and paper and begins to sketch. He spends the next hour working on his character, going through multiple pages and erasing several times.]

Bader:
“Okay, this one’s not too bad. But I think I can do better.”

Caleb:
“Yeah, keep trying! You’re getting there!”

[Bader continues to sketch, but with each attempt, he becomes increasingly frustrated.]

Bader:
“Ah, this one looks terrible! And this one’s even worse!”

Everleigh:
“Don’t give up, Bader! You’ll get it eventually.”

[Bader wipes away his drawing and starts again. He goes through another five papers, but still can’t create a character he’s happy with.]

Bader:
“Why can’t I get this right? I’ve been at it for hours!”

Slim Z:
“Don’t worry about it, Bader. You’ll get better with practice.”

Bader:
“But I’ve already made 20 attempts and I’m still no closer to making something good.”

[Caleb and Everleigh try to offer encouragement, but Bader is feeling disheartened.]

Bader:
“I think I’m just not cut out for this, guys. I give up.”

[Bader puts down his pencil and paper and walks away from the table, feeling defeated.]

Everleigh:
“Aw, Bader, don’t give up! Maybe you just need a break and come back to it later.”

Caleb:
“Yeah, you’ve got all the time in the world to improve.”

Bader:
“Maybe you’re right. I’ll try again another time.”

[Although Bader is feeling down, he knows that he will try to make another cartoon character again in the future. He might have failed, but he’s not giving up permanently.]

[Bader, Caleb, Everleigh, and Slim Z are walking through the neighbourhood in their Halloween costumes, gathering treats from various houses. They decide to make the haunted house their last stop.]

Bader:
“I heard this place is really scary, guys. Are we sure we want to go trick-or-treating here?”

Caleb:
“Come on, Bader, don’t be a scaredy-cat. We can handle it!”

Everleigh:
“Yeah, it’ll be fun!”

**Scene:
Aurban Street on Halloween Night**

**EXT. EVERLEIGH’S HOUSE - NIGHT]**

*The street is decorated with jack-o'-lanterns and spooky decorations. Bader, Caleb J, and Everleigh are dressed in costumes, excited for a night of trick-or-treating. They approach a group of TEENAGE BULLIES in a parked car.*

BADER:
(dressed as a superhero enthusiastic) Let’s get some candy, guys! I can’t wait to show off my powers!

CALEB J:
(wearing a reflective costume grinning) Yeah! I’m ready to shine!

*As they walk past the teenagers, one of the teens rolls down the window.*

TEENAGER:
(the leader, smirking) Hey, reflector dude! Nice costume!

CALEB J:
(polite) Thanks! My mom made it for me!

*The teens laugh and spray the kids with water. Caleb raises his shield, protecting them.*

BADER:
(angry) Hey! That’s not cool! I’m calling the police!

*The teens, startled, drive away but not without threatening them.*

TEENAGER:
(shouting) We’re gonna kick your butts!

EVERLEIGH:
(scared) Let’s get inside!

*They sprint to Everleigh’s house and slam the door shut, locking it. Breathing heavily, they stand near the front window.*

BADER:
(smirking) Yeah, they wouldn’t dare come in here!

*One of the teenagers approaches the window, peering in.*

TEENAGER:
(taunting) You twerps are so lucky to be hiding in your mommy’s house!

*Bader, Caleb J, and Everleigh huddle together and start making funny noises and faces at the bullies.*

CALEB J:
(cheekily) Boo! You can’t catch us!

EVERLEIGH:
(imitating a creepy ghost) Ooooooh!

BADER:
(Making monkey noises and screaming)

*The bullies are getting frustrated, one of them slams his fist on the car.*

TEENAGER:
(yelling) You’re so lucky! I’m gonna rip off your arms!

BADER:
(confident) Why don’t you try?

*The teens start revving the engine, but the kids remain unfazed. Bader grabs a nearby weed whacker casually.*

BADER:
(looking at the weed whacker) I think it’s time for a little ‘treat’ of my own!

*He rushes outside, past the horrified looks of Everleigh and Caleb J.*

**[EXT. STREET - NIGHT]**

*Bader swings the weed whacker, pretending to chop down the air before aiming it at the teens' Ford F-150.*

BADER:
(yelling) HA HA

*He damages the side of the truck, and the teenagers jump out, surprised and furious.*

TEENAGER:
(furious) Are you kidding me? I’m gonna rip off your arms! And I’m gonna punch you guys in the face with your own fists!

*Bader, Caleb J, and Everleigh run back into the house and lock the door just as the teens yell threats at them.*

**[INT. EVERLEIGH’S HOUSE - NIGHT]**

*They all stand by the door, trying to catch their breath.*

EVERLEIGH:
(panicking) What do we do now?

CALEB J:
(grinning) We’ve got our candy stash and a heroic story! We’re fine!

BADER:
(smiling mischievously) And we’re always ready for round two!

*The camera pans out, showing the chaos outside fading away as the kids enjoy their victory inside.*

**[FADE OUT]**

[The group approaches the haunted house, but as they’re walking up to it, they see a shadow moving behind a tree. They all scream in fright.]

Bader:
“Who’s there?! Show yourself!”

[The shadow emerges from behind the tree, and it’s revealed to be Henry, one of their classmates, dressed up in a unicorn costume.]

Henry:
“Hey guys, it’s just me! I thought I’d scare you a little. Sorry about that!”

Bader:
“Phew, you really had us going there for a minute, Henry!”
