Crossover Page #8

Synopsis: A naturally talented basketball player, Noah Cruise is determined to become a doctor using his basketball scholarship to UCLA pre-med, rather than succumb to the lure of former sports agent Vaughn and go for the NBA. His best friend, the buddy that took the fall for him and did the time for an assault charge, Tech, also an outstanding basketball player, has less lofty ambitions: he wants to get his GED and win an underground street ball game against his arrogant rival, Jewelz. Their lives change drastically when they both fall in love with two local girls, Vanessa Lilly and Eboni Jackson, and take fateful trip out to L.A. together.

even if you're not high profile yet.

627

00:
48:35,542 -- 00:48:36,600

Brother, you...

628

00:
48:36,677 -- 00:48:38,736

You get one of those five spots,

629

00:
48:38,812 -- 00:48:40,302

and you can write your own ticket

from there.

630

00:
48:40,381 -- 00:48:43,282

- And if I don't?

- Then I put your name in the draft anyway.

631

00:
48:43,350 -- 00:48:46,751

It's a gamble.

But I'm betting that you're a winner.

632

00:
48:46,820 -- 00:48:48,685

And if that don't pan out?

633

00:
48:48,756 -- 00:48:51,452

Then K.I.M., baby. Keep it moving.

634

00:
48:54,428 -- 00:48:55,952

Keep it moving.

635

00:
48:57,498 -- 00:49:02,333

Well, like what, Vaughn?

Pick-up games at St. Cecilia?

636

00:
49:02,803 -- 00:49:04,430

Joe Dumars' Rec?

637

00:
49:04,505 -- 00:49:06,905

Or we need a change of climate,

we go on down to Atlanta

638

00:
49:06,974 -- 00:49:10,808

to that place that used to be

an old Kmart, The Run and Shoot?

639

00:
49:13,681 -- 00:49:16,582

There's too many ifs, too many maybes.

Thanks, mister, but no thanks.

640

00:
49:16,650 -- 00:49:20,916

Nothing in life is guaranteed.

But this is the chance of a lifetime.

641

00:
49:20,988 -- 00:49:25,425

You know what? I'll bet your boy Tech

would give his right hand for this.

642

00:
49:26,393 -- 00:49:27,621

What do you got to lose?

643

00:
49:27,695 -- 00:49:32,223

A, my scholarship. B, my time.

That's two things I can't get back.

644

00:
49:32,967 -- 00:49:35,094

You know, I'd like to stay,

645

00:
49:35,169 -- 00:49:38,627

but you got a funny way

of making me lose my appetite.

646

00:
49:38,706 -- 00:49:40,071

Come on.

647

00:
49:40,140 -- 00:49:42,335

- We leaving, baby?

- Yeah.

648

00:
49:44,378 -- 00:49:46,005

Nice to meet you.

649

00:
49:46,380 -- 00:49:48,610

Nice meeting you too, Vanessa.

650

00:
49:52,052 -- 00:49:55,510

Want some of this, baby?

Don't make me do the dirty...

651

00:
49:56,056 -- 00:49:58,684

Sweep you off, and that's game!

652

00:
49:58,759 -- 00:50:01,125

The Detroit Shuffle

The Detroit Shuffle

653

00:
50:01,195 -- 00:50:03,095

Give me my money, man.

654

00:
50:05,499 -- 00:50:08,229

Thank you for coming out.

God bless and good night.

655

00:
50:08,302 -- 00:50:11,430

Y'all have a nice little game going there,

don't they, Heart Attack?

656

00:
50:11,505 -- 00:50:16,272

Yeah. Kind of reminds me of this kid

named Tech from down at the train station.

657

00:
50:16,543 -- 00:50:19,740

- Who's Tech?

- A kid that Jewelz busted up.

658

00:
50:23,884 -- 00:50:25,317

So you all want to run one?

659

00:
50:25,386 -- 00:50:28,480

- All depends. What are you playing for?

- $50.

660

00:
50:28,555 -- 00:50:30,682

$50? That's all you've got, baby?

661

00:
50:30,758 -- 00:50:34,694

Look, let's get them, man.

Twenty bones a point. Straight up.

662

00:
50:34,762 -- 00:50:36,525

That's a lot of paper, dawg.

663

00:
50:36,597 -- 00:50:40,727

It's Friday night. Just got paid. Let's do this.

664

00:
50:42,603 -- 00:50:44,332

Okay. We're with it.

665

00:
50:44,405 -- 00:50:45,804

- You with it?

- Yes, sir.

666

00:
50:45,873 -- 00:50:47,306

Well, call it in the air then, homeboy.

667

00:
50:47,374 -- 00:50:48,534

Tails.

668

00:
50:48,842 -- 00:50:50,810

Tails it is. You got that.

669

00:
50:50,878 -- 00:50:52,675

- They're losers anyway.

- Your ball.

670

00:
50:52,746 -- 00:50:53,804

Oh, we're losers?

671

00:
50:53,881 -- 00:50:55,712

- Right, man.

- Okay.

672

00:
50:55,783 -- 00:50:58,479

Just for talking trash, you get nothing.

673

00:
50:58,552 -- 00:51:00,019

- Yeah, we'll see.

- Check ball!

674

00:
51:00,087 -- 00:51:01,850

Don't be so serious.

675

00:
51:03,090 -- 00:51:05,820

Friday night

and you got paid right here, huh?

676

00:
51:09,096 -- 00:51:10,324

Do it!

677

00:
51:12,866 -- 00:51:14,629

Play some D, man!

678

00:
51:16,036 -- 00:51:17,526

D up! D up!

679

00:
51:21,675 -- 00:51:23,905

- Where you at?

- Right here, right here.

680

00:
51:23,977 -- 00:51:26,275

- Tight D.

- No, no, no. Keep the ball.

681

00:
51:35,022 -- 00:51:36,284

Shoot that, J!

682

00:
51:36,356 -- 00:51:38,119

There you go, baby.

683

00:
51:40,394 -- 00:51:41,554

Shoot!

684

00:
51:42,763 -- 00:51:43,991

Back up.

685

00:
51:44,665 -- 00:51:48,726

Point game. Just play it tight.

Play it tight, play it tight here.

686

00:
51:50,904 -- 00:51:52,769

- Game, man.

- Nice shot.

687

00:
51:54,007 -- 00:51:55,668

Give me my money.

688

00:
51:56,944 -- 00:52:01,438

Nice to meet you.

Nice to do business with you.

689

00:
52:01,515 -- 00:52:02,539

I didn't know...

690

00:
52:02,616 -- 00:52:05,380

Making money could be this easy

691

00:
52:05,819 -- 00:52:08,151

- Oh, my...

- What a coincidence.

692

00:
52:08,689 -- 00:52:13,126

The two of you accidentally on purpose

meeting up across town in a game.

693

00:
52:14,328 -- 00:52:18,389

Where you going, Shorty?

Gotta go to the store for your mom again?

694

00:
52:19,433 -- 00:52:20,900

Okay, my man.

695

00:
52:22,603 -- 00:52:25,367

I don't know what the situation is, but...

696

00:
52:26,406 -- 00:52:27,464

Hey!

697

00:
52:29,443 -- 00:52:30,501

Hey!

698

00:
52:35,916 -- 00:52:37,406

Open up! Open up!

699

00:
52:48,829 -- 00:52:50,592

That was close, man.

700

00:
52:51,431 -- 00:52:53,194

I forgot my ball.

701

00:
52:53,267 -- 00:52:56,998

- Man, we can buy another ball.

- With what? You tossed our ends.

702

00:
52:58,939 -- 00:53:03,000

A hundred singles looks like a lot more

than what it is.

703

00:
53:08,348 -- 00:53:11,749

I like that. You're the man.

704

00:
54:12,246 -- 00:54:14,339

Looking good, Mr. Cruise.

705

00:
54:14,815 -- 00:54:16,806

Feeling good, Mr. Tech.

706

00:
54:19,419 -- 00:54:21,546

I don't wanna act

like I ain't never been nowhere before.

707

00:
54:21,622 -- 00:54:23,351

But you haven't.

708

00:
54:23,423 -- 00:54:27,416

Oh, girl. When was the last time you seen

a forest in a lobby?

709

00:
54:27,494 -- 00:54:30,156

Oh, and let's not forget about a lake.

710

00:
54:30,430 -- 00:54:33,763

- Okay, this is big.

- Real big.

711

00:
54:42,876 -- 00:54:44,138

Defrost

712

00:
54:49,583 -- 00:54:50,572

Breakdown

713

00:
54:50,651 -- 00:54:55,247

The fraternities use the common area

for stepping during the summer months.

714

00:
54:56,023 -- 00:54:57,650

Okay. That's cool. That's cool.

715

00:
54:57,724 -- 00:54:59,453

A lot of them will be after you to pledge.

716

00:
54:59,526 -- 00:55:01,084

Especially since you'll be playing ball.

717

00:
55:01,161 -- 00:55:03,527

Yeah, well,

I don't think I'll be joining a fraternity.

718

00:
55:03,597 -- 00:55:07,727

I'm spending most of my free time

with my girl here, Vanessa, and studying.

719

00:
55:10,904 -- 00:55:13,429

Let me show you something over here.

720

00:
55:22,716 -- 00:55:24,274

The director's ready for you now.

721

00:
55:24,351 -- 00:55:26,945

If you want to chill with homechick

till I get back, it's all right.
