to reside, belongs to someone else.

Yes, Shabnam. Love happens only once in life.

Heart is exchanged only once.

lt is our fate that we got sorrow

instead of happiness.

So the one whom you loved,...

she gave you sorrow in return.

Now these sorrows are the support

of my life, Shabnam.

So she is unfaithful

and fortunate too?

May l know who she is.

She belongs to a family where

love is supposed to be a crime.

- Where does she live?

- ln Agra.

''l am the glitter of your eyes''

''lf you remember or not''

''l am the glitter of your eyes''

Bless you, Aurangzeb.

Sit down.

ln the entire palace, l only have

the freedom to meet you.

Or else father's anger has made this

palace ...

like a stepmother's lap for me.

That's very regretful.

First you wrote a unpleasant letter

to father from Gujarat.

And now instead of apologizing,...

you suspect his love?

Sister, l have come to clear

this misunderstanding.

But l don't get the permission

to meet father.

Come with me.

Father is not just

the emperor of lndia,...

but also the father of

a insensible son like you.

He will definitely forgive you.

l request His Majesty to forgive

Aurangzed ...

and permit him to see you.

How can l forgive him?

His letter indicates rebel.

And he has threatened

the fate of lndia.

Which l will never tolerate.

- Father!

- Come, dear Jahan.

Can l come in?

Aurangzed in front of me?

How did you dare to come

without my permission?

Father, it is my fault.

l brought Aurangzed along.

He is ashamed of his deeds. And has

come to apologize to His Majesty.

The ill-mannered son who

forgot his manners ...

and wrote me such a letter which

indicates rebel,...

l can never forgive him.

Your Majesty, Aurangzed is

stubborn and childish,...

but not rebellion.

l request you to permission

Aurangzed to give an explanation.

Permission granted.

Your Majesty, l am not a rebel.

Even l am loyal to the throne

like brother Dara.

My only complaint is that

brother Dara has too close ...

to His Majesty,

and l am distanced.

Or else even l can prove my love.

lt is not necessary to be close to

give the proof of love, Aurangzeb.

lf you wished, you would fulfill the

duty of an ideal and dutiful son ...

despite of staying away.

Your Majesty, this is

what l want to know.

Where have l lacked in faithfulness

compared ...

to His Majesty's beloved Dara.

l don't understand

why are you jealous of Dara.

Why do you forget that he is

also your elder brother ...

and also the heir of the throne?

lt is your duty to show respect

towards your elder brother...

and the future Emperor

of the country.

Your Majesty, l understand my duty.

But l am compelled to say that the

future Emperor of the country ...

will not be able to live up to

the expectations of his ancestors...

who had established

the lslamic rule.

Aurangzeb, you are forgetting...

that the Mughal rule is not based

of religion.

lnstead it is based on

the principles of love and harmony.

Because of which my late grandpa

was known as Akbar.

You have become ignorant.

l will have to think a several times

before forgiving you.

Now you may leave.

Father!

Dear Jahan, l am afraid ...

that the fate of lndia will be

sacrificed ...

because of the foolishness

of this insensible son.

- Where are you, Nanhe Khan?

- Please come.

What's the matter?

You seem quite excited.

lt's time to get lucky.

There's an announcement in town.

Princess Jahan Ara's birthday

is going to be celebrated.

Shabnam's melodious voice

and my poet's poetry.

l swear, you will get wealth.

You will be given territories.

You are right.

But he has sworn not

to say couplets.

The vow must be over now.

Come, let's see how he refuses me.

Uncle, you wait,

l'll go.

- Okay, dear. You go. - Tell him

to give an interesting couplet.

Come. Sit down.

l have come to ask for something.

What do l have to give?

Promise me.

l will ask for it.

Don't be afraid.

l won't ask for love.

l want your composition.

Shabnam, l've taken my poetry to

be a mistake ...

and sacrificed in on my failed love.

Believe me, Shabnam. Now writing

couplets is like ...

digging my old wounds.

Then let it be.

l won't compel you.

Father wished that if he got

one of your poetry...

even he will get the honor

in the royal court ...

which he has been dreaming

of since a long time.

Or else for me, now there is no

difference in fame or anonymity.

l am used to living in the dark.

l am no more fond of the light.

- You mentioned the royal court?

- Yes.

lt's Princess Jahan Ara's birthday.

Father said

it is a golden opportunity.

Shabnam, leave darkness

and come into light.

l'll be very glad.

- Pardon? - Yes.

Tell father not to be disheartened.

l'll write a poetry for you.

Alright. Then you very much.

Bless you, child.

May you have

all the happiness in life.

On the joyous occasion

of your birthday,...

along with territories,

l also present these gifts.

Now go and prepare

for the entertainment.
