Don't be a stranger.

Have a drink with us.

311

00:
38:24,219 -- 00:38:26,136

Or are you still angry?

312

00:
38:26,304 -- 00:38:28,597

- I should ask that of you.

- Don't be mean.

313

00:
38:28,765 -- 00:38:31,433

You took my joking

too seriously, silly man.

314

00:
38:31,601 -- 00:38:33,102

Come on, let's go.

315

00:
38:33,269 -- 00:38:36,480

No, you don't.

We were gonna have a drink.

316

00:
38:37,315 -- 00:38:39,650

Right? Start the sake flowing!

317

00:
38:39,818 -- 00:38:41,860

Make it your best.

It's on me.

318

00:
38:42,028 -- 00:38:45,406

Never!

My brother'd beat me to a pulp!

319

00:
38:45,573 -- 00:38:48,367

And I'd be kicked out of the house!

320

00:
38:48,868 -- 00:38:51,370

- B*tch!

- Yeah, what?

321

00:
39:15,687 -- 00:39:17,438

Hey, casket maker.

322

00:
39:18,273 -- 00:39:20,232

Drowning your sorrows?

323

00:
39:25,363 -- 00:39:29,324

The inspector's long visit

must have killed your business.

324

00:
39:29,743 -- 00:39:32,202

You've stayed ten days

already yourself.

325

00:
39:32,370 -- 00:39:33,996

Don't be like that.

326

00:
39:34,664 -- 00:39:36,915

Your shop has flourished

because of me.

327

00:
39:37,083 -- 00:39:39,918

Shut up!

This isn't a brothel.

328

00:
39:40,086 -- 00:39:42,588

If you want a place to stay,

go to Seibei's.

329

00:
39:42,756 -- 00:39:48,093

Bad idea.

Both sides are fighting for me.

330

00:
39:49,512 -- 00:39:52,765

I'll stay here

and let them keep hoping.

331

00:
40:11,826 -- 00:40:13,952

Everyone but him out.

332

00:
40:39,354 -- 00:40:41,730

Come to my place. Now.

333

00:
40:42,857 -- 00:40:44,691

What's the rush?

334

00:
40:45,944 -- 00:40:48,487

The inspector's leaving tomorrow.

335

00:
40:50,573 -- 00:40:54,660

A magistrate was killed

in a town 24 miles from here.

336

00:
40:58,123 -- 00:41:00,833

He doesn't seem too concerned.

337

00:
41:01,084 -- 00:41:04,002

He won't learn of it until tonight.

338

00:
41:04,796 -- 00:41:07,214

You seem to know everything.

339

00:
41:09,134 -- 00:41:12,511

Was the magistrate's murder

your doing?

340

00:
41:13,429 -- 00:41:15,430

Possibly.

341

00:
41:16,850 -- 00:41:19,518

The inspector's presence

is costing me a lot.

342

00:
41:19,686 -- 00:41:22,354

So are my hired men.

343

00:
41:23,314 -- 00:41:24,773

I see.

344

00:
41:25,316 -- 00:41:29,069

Speaking of which,

here's 30 in advance.

345

00:
41:29,863 -- 00:41:33,073

Thirty more if we win.

Come right away.

346

00:
41:33,241 -- 00:41:37,452

I'd feel bad not giving Seibei

a chance to better your offer.

347

00:
41:37,620 -- 00:41:40,873

Ready to exploit any weakness,

aren't you?

348

00:
41:41,040 -- 00:41:42,624

Tough luck.

349

00:
41:43,126 -- 00:41:46,420

I'll decide my price

after the inspector leaves.

350

00:
42:01,936 -- 00:42:05,314

Cheer up.

The inspector's leaving.

351

00:
42:05,481 -- 00:42:07,149

Really?

352

00:
42:07,525 -- 00:42:09,067

Fantastic!

353

00:
42:21,497 -- 00:42:23,832

What did Ushitora want?

354

00:
42:27,212 -- 00:42:31,089

Son of a b*tch!

The slaughter's gonna start again?

355

00:
42:31,841 -- 00:42:33,425

Looks like it.

356

00:
42:52,111 -- 00:42:53,946

What's taking them so long?

357

00:
42:54,656 -- 00:42:57,950

It's about time one of them

made me an offer.

358

00:
42:58,743 -- 00:43:01,662

Some samurai.

All you talk about is money.

359

00:
43:03,081 -- 00:43:05,332

This is dangerous and dirty work.

360

00:
43:05,500 -- 00:43:07,668

It's only worth it

if the price is right.

361

00:
43:07,835 -- 00:43:10,462

You'd only be a bodyguard.

362

00:
43:11,547 -- 00:43:13,840

With some bodyguards,

363

00:
43:14,008 -- 00:43:18,011

the employers

have to watch their backs.

364

00:
43:43,997 -- 00:43:49,042

What's that fool up to?

He's been running back and forth all day.

365

00:
44:00,471 -- 00:44:02,848

Gonji, a bottle of sake.

366

00:
44:03,016 -- 00:44:05,976

Forget it. I'm not gonna

let you celebrate the butchery!

367

00:
44:06,144 -- 00:44:08,770

I'm not! I'm miserable!

368

00:
44:09,689 -- 00:44:12,232

They're making peace.

369

00:
44:12,400 -- 00:44:13,984

They are?

370

00:
44:14,652 -- 00:44:17,362

And I bought

a lot of lumber for coffins.

371

00:
44:17,530 -- 00:44:19,531

What do I do now?

372

00:
44:20,283 -- 00:44:24,202

I'm sorry for you guys,

but now the town will quiet down.

373

00:
44:24,370 -- 00:44:25,620

You idiot!

374

00:
44:25,788 -- 00:44:29,708

Gamblers only make peace

to prepare for a bigger fight.

375

00:
44:30,668 -- 00:44:32,878

They can't have the silk fair

if they're fighting.

376

00:
44:33,046 -- 00:44:35,380

No silk fair means

no gambling rooms

377

00:
44:35,548 -- 00:44:39,134

and no income from their territory,

so they make up for a while.

378

00:
44:39,302 -- 00:44:42,888

A truce is merely the seed

for an even bloodier battle.

379

00:
44:43,056 -- 00:44:44,598

You got that?

380

00:
44:45,350 -- 00:44:48,060

There's nothing more dangerous.

381

00:
44:51,606 -- 00:44:56,151

Still, they were so determined

to destroy each other.

382

00:
44:57,236 -- 00:44:59,529

How'd they manage

to calm down?

383

00:
44:59,697 -- 00:45:02,324

I think Unosuke suggested it.

384

00:
45:02,492 -- 00:45:03,492

Unosuke?

385

00:
45:03,659 -- 00:45:08,246

Ushitora's youngest brother.

He returned last night from his travels.

386

00:
45:09,332 -- 00:45:11,750

Evil bastard came back, did he?

387

00:
45:12,168 -- 00:45:15,212

He looks as gentle

as the zodiac Rabbit he's named after,

388

00:
45:15,380 -- 00:45:18,131

but he's a wolf inside.

389

00:
45:22,470 -- 00:45:26,264

A whole year you've been gone.

Even the winds welcome you!

390

00:
46:02,343 -- 00:46:05,387

Want to see

something interesting?

391

00:
46:32,081 -- 00:46:33,290

What's going on?

392

00:
46:35,251 -- 00:46:36,835

Same thing at your place?

393

00:
46:37,503 -- 00:46:39,171

Makin' fools of us!

394

00:
46:39,338 -- 00:46:43,216

They end their feud, then send us away

with crumbs in our pockets!

395

00:
46:44,302 -- 00:46:46,386

Sons of b*tches!

396

00:
46:47,680 -- 00:46:49,598

We'll show 'em!

397

00:
46:49,765 -- 00:46:51,725

Bastards!

398

00:
47:06,073 -- 00:47:08,700

What are they moaning about?

399

00:
47:09,827 -- 00:47:13,371

Ushitora made us

risk our lives,

400

00:
47:13,539 -- 00:47:17,375

and that was just yesterday!

401

00:
47:17,543 -- 00:47:19,044

Hachi, quiet!

402

00:
47:24,175 -- 00:47:26,259

I'll tell ya, Kuma,

403

00:
47:27,220 -- 00:47:29,930

I can't take it anymore!

404

00:
47:30,515 -- 00:47:35,477

Let's go report it to the law.

405

00:
47:35,770 -- 00:47:37,896

Then that Ushitora's gonna -

406

00:
47:40,900 -- 00:47:43,693

That hurt!

407

00:
47:43,861 -- 00:47:45,278

Get up!

408

00:
47:45,780 -- 00:47:47,239

Let's go!

409

00:
47:49,367 -- 00:47:51,785

Why'd you do that?

410

00:
48:05,967 -- 00:48:08,426

- Come on!

- No!

411

00:
48:25,528 -- 00:48:27,946

Ushitora's a real bastard.
