The Bodyguard Page #6

Synopsis: A pop singer has been receiving threatening notes, and her manager hires a bodyguard known for his good work. The bodyguard ruffles the singer's feathers and most of her entourage by tightening security more than they feel is necessary. The bodyguard is haunted by the fact that he was on Reagan's secret service staff but wasn't there to prevent the attack by Hinckley. Eventually the bodyguard and the singer start an affair, and she begins to believe his precautions are necessary when the stalker strikes close to home.

to Ushitora at gambling.

520

01:
03:50,118 -- 01:03:54,538

If she were ugly,

he'd only have lost his house.

521

01:
03:54,706 -- 01:03:59,376

But old Tokuemon

was drooling all over her.

522

01:
03:59,544 -- 01:04:03,088

Ushitora saw a chance

to draw Tokuemon to his side.

523

01:
04:03,340 -- 01:04:09,220

He took the wife and house

and dangled them in front of Tokuemon.

524

01:
04:09,888 -- 01:04:13,766

This poor fool built a hut

right next to his former house

525

01:
04:14,017 -- 01:04:19,522

just so he could watch helplessly

as Tokuemon ravishes his wife every day.

526

01:
04:19,981 -- 01:04:23,484

I don't want her anymore!

I gave her up for good!

527

01:
04:24,194 -- 01:04:26,946

Then why the heartbroken look?

528

01:
04:35,080 -- 01:04:36,705

Going home?

529

01:
04:37,707 -- 01:04:43,379

Won't you get beaten up?

Weren't you told not to see her?

530

01:
04:43,547 -- 01:04:45,548

I'm used to it.

531

01:
04:46,049 -- 01:04:47,841

I don't mind.

532

01:
04:58,562 -- 01:05:02,398

Ushitora has his men

watching over her.

533

01:
05:02,566 -- 01:05:04,650

She can't even see her son.

534

01:
05:07,779 -- 01:05:09,572

Good-bye.

535

01:
05:13,451 -- 01:05:16,662

Guys like that make me sick!

536

01:
05:58,496 -- 01:06:01,874

I've decided

to be your bodyguard.

537

01:
06:02,042 -- 01:06:03,751

You have my gratitude.

538

01:
06:05,837 -- 01:06:07,880

I want 30 in advance.

539

01:
06:08,798 -- 01:06:12,593

That's a steep price.

I'd refuse if I were you.

540

01:
06:12,761 -- 01:06:15,512

But he's so tough!

541

01:
06:19,017 -- 01:06:20,392

Tougher than this?

542

01:
06:20,560 -- 01:06:24,938

Don't say that, Uno.

If I refuse, he'll go to Seibei.

543

01:
06:25,106 -- 01:06:26,774

That would be bad!

544

01:
06:29,027 -- 01:06:30,736

Buy him then.

545

01:
06:34,658 -- 01:06:36,659

Here. Thirty ryo.

546

01:
06:40,330 -- 01:06:42,873

Thirty more when we win.

547

01:
06:43,041 -- 01:06:45,000

Of course.

You have my word.

548

01:
06:45,168 -- 01:06:49,338

If that's settled, let's drink to it.

To our partnership!

549

01:
06:49,589 -- 01:06:53,008

Fine, but is the woman safe?

550

01:
06:53,218 -- 01:06:54,551

What woman?

551

01:
06:54,719 -- 01:06:56,679

Tokuemon's woman.

552

01:
06:56,846 -- 01:07:00,015

If they get her again,

you'll lose for sure.

553

01:
07:00,183 -- 01:07:03,268

Don't worry.

I've got six roughnecks on watch.

554

01:
07:03,436 -- 01:07:05,562

That's not enough.

555

01:
07:05,730 -- 01:07:08,357

You need at least one

as tough as this guy.

556

01:
07:10,360 -- 01:07:12,236

Brother, should I go?

557

01:
07:13,905 -- 01:07:17,366

I'll go along

and see how they're doing.

558

01:
07:17,534 -- 01:07:18,826

Thanks.

559

01:
07:21,413 -- 01:07:23,288

It ain't a fun job.

560

01:
07:24,207 -- 01:07:28,210

You gotta stand in the cold

when Tokuemon comes around.

561

01:
07:31,631 -- 01:07:33,590

He doesn't seem

to be here now.

562

01:
07:37,429 -- 01:07:39,722

Is that where the jackass

who lost his wife lives?

563

01:
07:39,889 -- 01:07:42,975

I almost forgot!

I gotta beat him up!

564

01:
07:47,063 -- 01:07:48,564

Hey, you!

565

01:
07:48,732 -- 01:07:52,025

Hanging around

Tokuemon's woman, huh?

566

01:
07:52,277 -- 01:07:55,821

How many times

we gotta tell you not to see her?

567

01:
07:57,282 -- 01:08:00,284

Ino, there's trouble!

Everyone's dead!

568

01:
08:01,202 -- 01:08:05,080

All six men have been killed!

Tell Ushitora, quick!

569

01:
08:12,130 -- 01:08:13,088

Who's there?

570

01:
08:28,229 -- 01:08:29,980

Get your husband and run!

571

01:
08:36,654 -- 01:08:38,113

Idiot!

572

01:
08:43,244 -- 01:08:44,661

Mommy!

573

01:
08:48,458 -- 01:08:50,292

Nui!

574

01:
08:51,002 -- 01:08:52,795

Run for it!

575

01:
08:53,004 -- 01:08:55,422

Here's 30 ryo.

I stole it from Ushitora.

576

01:
08:55,590 -- 01:08:57,299

Take it.

577

01:
10:24,512 -- 01:10:26,013

You idiots!

578

01:
10:26,180 -- 01:10:27,598

What are you waiting for?

579

01:
10:33,271 -- 01:10:34,688

Stop that!

580

01:
10:35,148 -- 01:10:38,775

I hate pathetic weaklings!

Start crying and I'll kill you!

581

01:
10:42,196 -- 01:10:43,780

Ushitora's coming!

582

01:
10:47,118 -- 01:10:48,118

Get lost!

583

01:
10:48,620 -- 01:10:49,953

We'll thank you later.

584

01:
10:50,121 -- 01:10:52,456

Idiot! Don't ever come back here!

585

01:
10:53,124 -- 01:10:54,791

Thank you.

586

01:
10:55,627 -- 01:10:57,210

Thank you.

587

01:
11:08,473 -- 01:11:11,183

- What happened?

- Take a look.

588

01:
11:20,777 -- 01:11:22,444

What a mess.

589

01:
11:26,324 -- 01:11:27,991

Didn't I tell you?

590

01:
11:29,410 -- 01:11:31,662

Six men weren't enough.

591

01:
11:36,793 -- 01:11:40,504

Must have been

15 or 16 men.

592

01:
11:46,177 -- 01:11:47,552

Where's the wench?

593

01:
11:47,720 -- 01:11:49,179

Gone, of course.

594

01:
11:50,348 -- 01:11:52,349

Seibei's pretty clever.

595

01:
11:56,604 -- 01:11:58,188

Brother!

596

01:
12:00,024 -- 01:12:03,068

Son of a b*tch!

597

01:
12:08,700 -- 01:12:12,452

My silk's burning!

Please put out the fire!

598

01:
12:12,620 -- 01:12:14,705

I'll give you anything!

599

01:
12:16,040 -- 01:12:18,000

Don't move!

600

01:
12:23,798 -- 01:12:25,716

Hand over the wench

and we'll save the shop!

601

01:
12:26,259 -- 01:12:28,051

What wench?

602

01:
12:28,553 -- 01:12:30,887

Don't play dumb!

Give her back or else!

603

01:
12:31,639 -- 01:12:33,640

- What are you talking about?

- Shut up!

604

01:
12:59,083 -- 01:13:04,129

My sake's pouring out!

605

01:
13:04,297 -- 01:13:06,965

Do something!

606

01:
13:14,390 -- 01:13:16,933

Stop up the holes!

607

01:
13:19,562 -- 01:13:21,563

I'll give you anything!

608

01:
13:30,531 -- 01:13:32,991

Help!

609

01:
13:38,790 -- 01:13:41,124

This is Seibei's doing!

610

01:
13:44,253 -- 01:13:46,296

Come with me, men!

611

01:
14:39,225 -- 01:14:43,270

What happened?

Why so glum?

612

01:
14:45,523 -- 01:14:47,482

Your business should be booming.

613

01:
14:47,650 -- 01:14:48,859

No.

614

01:
14:49,026 -- 01:14:53,363

When the fighting gets this bad,

they don't bother with coffins.

615

01:
15:10,840 -- 01:15:12,174

Another bottle.

616

01:
15:12,341 -- 01:15:13,758

Comin' right up.

617

01:
15:14,468 -- 01:15:16,928

You're unusually friendly today.

What's going on?

618

01:
15:20,016 -- 01:15:21,892

Gives me the creeps.

619

01:
15:23,352 -- 01:15:26,605

Aren't you angry that I became

Ushitora's bodyguard?

620

01:
15:26,772 -- 01:15:28,481

Not at all.

621

01:
15:33,487 -- 01:15:35,739

You're not a bad guy

after all.

622

01:
15:36,407 -- 01:15:37,866

What?

623

01:
15:38,701 -- 01:15:43,747

You're not really bad.

You just pretend to be.

624

01:
15:43,915 -- 01:15:46,416

He came by last night.

625

01:
15:46,584 -- 01:15:47,667

Who?

626

01:
15:47,835 -- 01:15:50,921

The man who makes you sick.

627

01:
15:51,964 -- 01:15:55,425

He told me everything.
